used banks turbo kit good deal ?

Camo 85, yep a shoebox. It would have fit the original frame except for the starter solenoid.I had the option of widening the stock frame or building a new one. I built a new one so I can design my 4 link. Just a straight ladder frame. I'm going to put a small subframe for the 4 link. I just got...

used banks turbo kit good deal ?

Man, I got a sweet deal didn't I ? I am going to put my kit on the 91 bronco. I don't really need anymore power for the crawler, just the ability to run on extreme angles

used banks turbo kit good deal ?

I got it for $160 !! It's from an 88 f350. Missing one exhaust pipe that goes from pass. manifold to the turbo manifold and the clamps that hold the turbo together and the oil feed line. Looks like I left enough firewall space on the 77 bronco to bolt it up. Yahoo!

used banks turbo kit good deal ?

Thanks, I'll check it out. Not shure if it's a powerstroke or not. My exhaust is off now and we should be able to see if it all bolts up, right?

used banks turbo kit good deal ?

A guy I know came by and said he has a complete banks kit for a 7.3. He only wants $200. Is this a good deal? I think it might have come off of a powerstroke 90 something f350. Will this work on my 84 6.9?

Finally pulling the 6.9 for the swap

A 77 bronco. I gave up on a smaller starter and built a frame and motor mounts. Can't figure out how to post pics. I'm putting in a divorced transfer case and the radiator in the back to transfer some weight.I'll use the frame rails to get the coolant back to the radiator for a clean look

Finally pulling the 6.9 for the swap

Waiting on the parts store. They ordered some more starters for me to look at. I found a perfect one for a powerstroke but the bendix doesn't throw as far as mine.

It's a mitsubishi style. Is the nippondenso smaller?

Finally pulling the 6.9 for the swap

Well, I have officially opened a can of worms. I mocked the 6.9 up and have clearance issues LOL. The biggest problem is my starter solenoid. It is hitting the frame with the driverside exhaust as close as I can get on the other side. I even bought an AutoZone ministarter and it wasn't enough...

Finally pulling the 6.9 for the swap

Well, I'm only going to need to wire the glowplugs, fuel solenoid, starter, alternator, and an electric fan. I'ts going to be a bare-bones trail rig. Will the IDI's crank on one battery ? And I noticed that my fuel filter sits pretty high next to the air breather. Can I move it to gain clearance...

Finally pulling the 6.9 for the swap

I'm finally pulling my 6.9 from a van to put in my rockcrawler. Is there anything special that i need to save off of the van? I'm going to cut the main wiring harness and alternator harness after the plug. Maybe the rear fuel tank too.

    84 E350 been sitting a year

Y'all are not going to believe it. I checked the fuel filter, put 2 good batteries in it and gave it a small shot of either and it cranked right up. Idles a little low after letting off the throttle. Had to feather it back to idle. Other than that, all the gauges read good. Can't wait to pull it...

    84 E350 been sitting a year

Well, I'm getting a family cage from a friend of mine pretty cheap. I was thinking of widening the frame to fit the engine but am leaning towards building a frame into the cage that I bought using the early bronco firewall and front clip. Not worried about the weight, I'm going to be using...

    84 E350 been sitting a year

Is there anything that I need to keep off of the van for the engine swap? I plan on putting this in a 79 bronco or shoehorning it into a 77 bronco

    84 E350 been sitting a year

I am picking up this van tomorrow. Bought it for $400 for the engine and tranny to put in my trail truck. The guy said that the batteries were dead one day so he charged them but a few days later it did the same thing so he parked it. I'm guessing a bad alternator or batteries? Is there anything...

7.3 in a rockcrawler wiring question

Thanks guys. I found an 83 e350 with a 6.9 cheap. He said twice a relay(?) blew on it and he parked it. Should be perfect for what I need. I might have some more questions when I get started next week. Anybody want to trade a 2wd c6 for a 4wd c6 or a flywheel and bellhousing ?

7.3 in a rockcrawler wiring question

Great, so the starter and fuel shutoff solenoid. What about the glowplug system? And will I need an electric fuel pump or does the fuel pump on the engine pull straight from the tank?

7.3 in a rockcrawler wiring question

I'm looking at putting a 7.3 idi into an early bronco skinned rockcrawler on a 79 bronco frame with military axles. I'm new to the diesel scene with an ongoing 7.3 swap on my 91 4 door bronco. How would I go about hooking a 7.3 up to something like a painless performance drag race style wiring...
