Make sure the vent that blocks off outside air is properly closed.
Sometimes they stay stuck open and you end up cooling hot outside air instead of recirculating the cooler cab air.
Always use the max a/c position on the controls. That positions is suposed to recirculate only cab air.

2.5 inch springs would probably flex better, but i don't have issues with my suspension at the moment.
I can run fire roads pretty fast without it beating up the truck or myself. And mynload capacity is pretty decent.
I'd run 3 inch springs again.
My springs are 3 inches wide front and back. I haven't driven a truck with 2 1/2 inch springs, so i couldn't tell you much.
I do run my truck with no sway bars, and i've had no problems with handling, but then again, i don't do much street racing in my truck.
We winched up to a half rotten tree, wrapped a strap about 12 ft off the ground hooked a pulley up and winched the front of the truck up. We then used 2 60" hi lift jacks on the sliders to finish raising the tire off the ground.
The truck probably has about 100,000 miles on it. It was a...
Almost forgot about the steering. If you do rockwells, your probably better off with full hydro for packaging sake. Its not DOT approved though.
On dana's you NEED at least a hydro assist on the steering box . This takes care of deathwobbles and makes the truck driveable with 44's.
If your gonna run rockwells your pretty much stuck with 6.72 gear ratios. Unless you spend $2200.00 on overson 4.88gear sets.
If you stick to dana 60 front and sterling rear axles, i would recommend 5.13 gears, or a minimum of 4.88 which is what i run.
If i had a choice i would go 5.13...
I beat on it pretty hard. On this weekend trip, i almost rolled it and managed to unseat two passenger side tires at the same time. And i do have beadlocks.
Long story short, its good to have friends that stay with you to the end. It took 2 16.5k winches and one pto winch to drag my ass...
That is basically a one ton jeep. He manages to break the front axles and was left in 2wd. Same size tires as my truck, and a bigblock chevy. Runs good.... When its not broke:sly. He has a pto wich wichnhelped out alot.
I run a 220 amp alternator and golf cart solenoids for the winch, so...
I originaly bought that snorkel made for land rover discovery, But turned around and sold it because the outlet for the hose was significantly smaller than the air filter inlet for the air filter.
It is a nice design and fits better, but the outlet shape is a long narrow oval. I´m sure it...
My snorkel set up is for a 2005 nissan patrol diesel if i'm not mistaken. I had to run a hydrobooster so the 3.5"hose would clear and reach the factory air filter.
As for the spring length, it should be close stock. I'll have to measure to be sure.
The shackles are pretty...
Even if you re only going straight in the mud, there is a lot of leverage on those blocks and u bolts. Especially on the front suspension.
It will probably hold , but i would check to make sure they stay tight after every run.
I manage to crack the frame horns where the shackle reverse...
Sometimes its the starters make the difference. My truck started to take longer to start. Changed in a fresh starter and it would fire right away. A few extra rpm when cranking makes a difference.
Most aftermarket radios have only a bright and a less bright level of light.
My understanding is when the headlights and interior dash lights are off, it is bright out , so the radio defaults to full brightness o you can see the rdio easily.
When the dash lights are on, the radio should be at...
I've thought of a cc setup also, but afterchecking out the frame differences, i figured it would be less work to move the rear axle forward on a cc frame than swapping cabs. You would have to make a xmember to mount the cab on a shorter frame, and would probably have to notch the body to clear...
When we Prime a dry idi, we usually leave the glowplugs out. We then crank the engine several times stopping to keep from frying the starter.
We crank the engine until diesel starts to spray out of the glow plug holes. By the time it sprays out al the holes. It usually fires right away once...
Funny thing is that 2 days later, my truck tried to back out of my shop at night by itself.
I left it in reverse gear. Parked in the shop with an engine behind the truck on a pallet.
The starter happened to short out and engage and stay on until it fried.
The truck pushed the engine on the...
Its hard to say cause i've never had any real issues with egt's. I installed the cowl induction kit when i first got the turbo kit from Hypermax. And later did the snorkel.
So i've always had cool air into the air filter since i added the turbo. But in theory It should help.
What really...
Thanks, Mel. The pump and injector are working fine. I still run the pump the way you sent it. mainly to keep the smoke down. But the propane and water injection make up the difference.
The river there was about 18 inches deep, and there was plenty of power in third low. The belt did slip...
