I have drums off of my 86 F350 right now. This would be great if I could get some specifics on this. I took it all apart because the parking brake cable was not working. Wouldn't engage well or spring back. It has new DORMAN cables for all 3 (front, left and right cable). I'm not sure what...
I put 2 gasser ZF5's in 2 of my diesels. I thought the gas pressure plate was different and couldn't be used.
I prefer the ZF5 gasser as well. I have 3.55.
On both of my installs, I purchased the LUK solid mass flywheel conversion. Got em pretty cheap online. LUK 07225 $250 at rockauto. I...
Take note on those Auber gauges, I've always wanted them for my EGT and Water Temp (for water temp I trigger my Mark 8 fan and its adjustable) but they do not like cold weather. Anything around 32 degrees and below causes the reading to show EEEE.
I installed 2 this past December to get...
We actually bought a place already so we've been back and forth (Rte 68) but only in a Ford Escape so I don't have experience towing yet. But that's what I'm thinking, I may be going slow but at least I'll be moving.
Awesome, thanks for all the input.
@jpw, I know it wasn't a diesel, but your 5.8 combo with a ranger still paints a good picture.
@zebrabeefj40, the ranger is rated at 420 ft/lbs and 26k GVW. The problem is everyone knocks the low torque ratings, however, the ZF5 (42 models) is only rated at...
Thanks for the input Heath. If my math is right, you have the below ratios (under the ZF-5 Wide Ratio). The US Gear has a 20% change (you have underdrive).
Hi All,
I know overdrive units have been discussed in the past, but I have not found any thread where someone has provided feedback that actually owns a Ranger Overdrive Torque Splitter in our trucks. I am looking to put one in my truck for a towing application (85 CC 7.3 Turbo'd w T-19 Dually...
How did the CXRacing 31x12x3 intercooler work out in your application? I have a rotary pumped 12V and looking for an intercooler that doesn't require much modification for an 86 F350 front end.
TWeatherford,
Which auber gauges do you have in your truck? I am looking into getting the same gauges. They have 2 different tachometer units and I'm guessing you got the one with a "progressive shift light".
I've just rewired my alternator and am now set up to pull from the stator wire.
Do...
Agnem, Thank you so much for following up on this. I was in search of an electric pump that was readily available and reliable and it looks like this is it!
Group 31's are the best upgrade for our trucks. I have AC Delco's and they were cheaper than replacement Group 65's. They were under $100 each. The threaded studs are worth it to me even if the battery wasn't stronger.
They fit without modification but you can trim the tray so the battery...
Yesterday in the junkyard, I stumbled across larger OBS mirrors. There were 2 trucks in the yard that had them so I grabbed 2 (1 was busted). I wanted to see how they'd be on my truck.
This mirror came off of a late 60s, early 70s Ford truck (with the same mirror swing bracket we have...
How long have you been running them?
Are you still using the Bosch 80034? How long have you used them? Do they work in the cold (-15 F)? The 80034 is the repalcement for many AC plugs: 7G, 12G, 11G
Thanks a lot for tips. I know that style (lower radiator hose heater) only goes up to 750 watts. What temperatures do you see and how effective is your lower radiator hose heater?
Today we saw -2 degrees in South Jersey and that's not including the wind chill. So I'd like to know how well...
How do you tee into your lower radiator hose? Do you have pictures of yours installed? I get that you cant just put it inline with the lower radiator hose, but I'm trying to picture teeing off of it.
I don't understand your set up. What are the benefits/differences in using the drain port, (return) heater hose method as opposed to just using the lower radiator hose. Are you refering to the pump style heater or the inline convection hose heater.
Lower Radiator Hose Heater...
