Hey guys, so I have a 6.9. Just did the head gasket put 7.3 heads on with new injectors and timed my ip pump. Had the truck on a dyno and pulled just u get 400 ft lb and always has lots of power. it is also a non turbo. Wired thing is when I put my foot In it I get a pinging/taping noise. It's...
Hey guys i did my first IDI rebuild a while back and used 7.3 heads on a 6.9 idi with stock injectors and pump, pump is turned up a bit and timing set. i pulled 380 Ft-lb on my schools dyno from a dead stop to 65. Are those decent numbers or average? thanks guys
Hey guys. Been looking around trying to get some info on a swap from my c6 to a zf5. The truck is a 85 f250 4x4 with Cruze control c6 automatic with 4:10 gears. I can pick up a tranny and t case for 200 bucks. I am just wondering what else I may need to complete the swap ( like cross member...
I'm not trying. To hurt you in any way. I've rebuilt a few powerstroke turbos and never had a problem. bi shaft play in the turbo I just want to replace the inlet gasket just to make sure I do t have a runaway.
I have no idea I took it off a motor a guy gave me for payment. The exuast hoisting for the down pipe is stamped ATS and the boost side is Garrett. I'm just looking for a new gasket or o ring set for it so take sure it doesn't leak on me befor I put it on my pickup.
Hey guys I picked up a Garrett turbo off a 6.9 with the ATS exuast housing. Great looking turbo but I want to put new gaskets in it since its on my work bench already. I just can't seam to find a deal kit for it. Anybody have a seal kit number or where I could find one. Thanks.
I had a few people tell me 7.3 heads would not work on a 6.9. But the guys on here gave me the part numbers for the 8 longer head bolts and washers to take up the space from 1/2 inch to 7/16. Then I took out the plugs in the water passages for cooling. And the 7.3 heads have stronger...
Well after a month of fighting the post office to get my parts finnaly got the truck up and running! Runs damn good with those 7.3 heads on it and the convention is successful.
Yea I've been looking for longer 7/16 studs for those holes. Can't find any longer though. If you guys know where to find some let me know. Been on arp and everything nobody has longer than 6 inch. It requires a 7 for those 4 holes on each head.
Have not put them on just yet need to get dowel pins. I was thinking the same thing but at 85 ft lbs. I didn't know if I was gonna need stronger. The ones that came out where grade 8. But now that you have said that I might go a little higher.
I'm actually using grade 8 bolts on the lower side of the head where they made the boss longer right at the manifold. It's just hard to get a 7/16 thread with a 1/2 shank. So I orders some of those washers that will take up the space.
I'm in the presses of outing 7.3 heads on my truck. I took out the freeze plugs for coolant flow. The dowel pins should line the head up and just gets her bolts for the bottom row
So I picked up a nice set of 6.3 heads. I'm thinking about putting those on my truck. If have to shim the head studs I got so they work and punch out those cooling plus on the heads but I think it might work. What are your guy see thoughts? And only difference between head gaskets is those...
Hey I just took my valves out and on both heads on 3-6 intake I have a crack along the seats and also onto the heads. So I'm probably going to need some new heads unless that happens with these engines and is not a problem. I'll see if I can find anything else out!
You have a very good point! My buddy and I where talking about that. I can weld but not that well. We should figure out if it's possible so we can save out pre cups. Anybody have the equipment to try?
