The high holy, enviro hippie neighbors that complain about my "growdozer" all summer long. then winter comes and they all want me to pull their Mickey mouse cars back onto the road.....go figure, hippiecrites for ya. I'm glad I finally left California for good and moved back to Colorado. Sent...

    Disc brake dually

It seems to me the reason the ford vacuum assist is so weak is the small diameter booster, It's tiny compared to the booster on my '95 GMC K1500 . More diaphragm surface area means more force from the same pressure differential, which translates into less leg force needed to stop. As for the...

the worst engineering part of your Ford?

The windshield washer fluid reservoir is way too small on my '85, doesn't quite hold a half gallon. When the roads are slushy and messy its gone far too quickly. Then there's the hose popping off the bottom all the time, they put an extra plastic collar around it so I can't just slip a spring...

So I figured out my screwup, someone in the past installed incorrect spring and I stupidly copied their mistake. The truck as actually supposed to have the 3486# springs. $400 lesson learned. Sent from my XT1028 using Tapatalk

Merry Christmas from California , I'm looking forward to seeing the full moon shining on the snow. It's not very often that it snows here this close to the coast.

I figure I'll be able to tell if there's any improvement on the test drive, but first I have to fix the latest fuel leak. That wasn't rain water dripping on me. This one is somewhere in the middle of the truck. Sent from my XT1028 using Tapatalk

The only bushings I did not replace were the TTB to cross member bushings. the new springs and shackles came with new bushings pre-installed, saving me that bit if hassle. Sent from my XT1028 using Tapatalk

    Correct front spring part #

I'll definitely look into that, a local 4x4 shop told me that air bags will help extend the life of the springs too. It might take a minute to find a friend with a welder and a dry work area. My place is a sea of mud and will stay that way until spring. Sent from my XT1028 using Tapatalk

    Correct front spring part #

Ordered the 2755# springs, they seem too lightweight,as soon as the truck was off the jacks I only had about 3/4" between springs and stops. Hopefully this post helps make sure no one else makes a $556 mistake like I did. Go with the 3486# springs. On the bright side, I have all new bushings up...

    Correct front spring part #

Its time to order new front springs. The old ones have about 3/8 inch travel left. On the SD truck springs website I've found three options. 43-476, 2,575 lb capacity 43-478, 2,755 lb capacity, and # 43-478 which has a 3,486 lb capacity. I've searched all over using google and haven't found...

    Fuel pump (diesel)

Looks like one of the hitachi oscillating type fuel pumps, I've seen these on skid steer loaders and diesel generators, there's a filter under the brass colored cap

    350 Vortec dead cylinder

Sounds like your mechanic is trying to sell you more than a tune up, new plugs and wires, a cap and rotor, you ought to be good for another 30k

    What axle ratio? Poll.

3.55 ratio in mine, have to burn the clutch a little to get it moving when i have a heavy load or towing the RV but its able to manage freeway speed with the t-19 fairly well.

Do these diesel buses have any value to the Oilburners community?

ive converted a couple into motorhomes, they last a lot longer than the flimsy wooden motorhomes on an extended pickuptruck chassis, the suspension and brakes are far better in my opinion. plus you get to design the interior the way you want it
