    cookoo I finally traded in the the big green machine. If any one is interested it went to Jones Junction Nissan and they gave me $1,000.00 on a trade. They said they are taking it to the Bel Air auto auction if you wanted to get a good deal.

    Converter randomly unlocks

    the tach sensor feeds signal to the computer when to lock and unlock. if your tach bounces at all it will effect when it locks up. The brake switch also sends a signal to the converter when depressed to unlock the T/C. try it while you are cruising in OD just tap the brakes and listen and watch...

    i would guess on the tach sensor you can try to clean it off it the connections are good, it is a ford part only. located on the front of engine near oil fill its a large bolt looking thing with 2 wires coming out of it.

    for free you can make it work. the only thing you might have to buy would be up pipes, and that is a small cost compared to the parts you could sell to pay for it.

    so I like to look around for govt surplus then I noticed an auction with a garrett turbo in it. it was a M24 a/r 50 got to looking more and there are tons of diesel parts available. If you were a 6.2l guy you would be in heven. There are lots of 25 engines in military transport cans on here...

    we had an M-88 tank retreiver throw a rod through the block. had the hole welded shut and she ran fine for the 2 years that I was there.
