Possible tranny rebuild in the future?
so i was sittin at a light in town on a hill today, light turned green and so i hit it, not too hard and it was just free rev, prolly only for a second or so but it felt like enternity... then it grabbed hard. Shes got 260k on her so im thinking ill most likely be doing a rebuild if theres not...- 85oilburner

well other than the pmd id just worry about routine maintence, ive had my 6.5 for about a year and never had any problems with glow plugs, it starts just fine so i leave it alone- 85oilburner

hoods tweaked, as well as the pass. fender. On a positive note its rust free, all four doors are in pretty good shape, cab is staright, along with the other fender, its nothing some bondo and primer cant make beautiful again. I'm more worried about the mechanical issues but it was registered in...- 85oilburner

Rot Box: first off i love her, but shes like a clingy girlfriend, just always needs attention lol. in the last thousand miles ives had to replace water pump (which was a pain in the a**), the starter, the PMD, and both batteries, but shes gets me to and from work faithfully most of the time...- 85oilburner

How many miles on your 6.5?
262,000 on my 95 2500 6.5, i got it at 250k and since then, replaced and relocated PMD, set of batteries, and a starter. Some pricey fixes but hey with a 1/4 of a million miles what can you expect? I still love the truck- 85oilburner

new to the ford scene, I own a 12v and a 6.5 so i figured i should throw a ford in the mix lol, picked up an 85 crewcab dually with a 4spd and a 6.9 w/ 57k miles and im pretty sure the IP is the only problem. 6 brand new tires and no bed, it was a straight up trade for a spare 327ci SBC i had...- 85oilburner
