    I made a new ground, from the battery to the frame, and from the frame to the tranny. Still nothin. The motor is grounded, and the connections are good. I have also checked the tach sensor wires. And I've traced them all the way back to the pcm. They are good, And tested out at 0 resistance on...

    Alright thanks everybody. I checked with an ohm meter the two wires that come from the tach sensor. They are good from the sensor all the way to the pcm. So with the tach not working and the tranny acting up... Does anybody else think it could be the computer being the problem???

    Thanks for the input guys. I have the new sensor in already but i still have no rpm gauge, any ideas where else the problem could be? maybe in the E4oD? or may the banks trans command?

    I'm not sure if it is defective or not. When the gauge suddenly works again, the truck performs exactly as should. I just cant figure out what is causing this intermittent problem.     I just changed the tach sensor, by the way its $80 at the stealership! and still no dice! It works every now and again, and I've been drivin on it for a week. But i'm afraid I am going to break somethin if i keep this up! Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again

    I have just disconnected the batteries, and pulled the plugs out of the banks controller. Then I sprayed some contact cleaner in there. Still nothin... I need some help, any information will help, I got a long drive home tomorrow, and I Really don't want to be stranded. Thanks guys

    I think there is a plug loose somewhere but I don't know where to look. The problem is intermittent and I can't figure this out all fuses are good and all the plugs I can find are tight. Help please

    Has anybody tried to install an intercooler from a psd on a 7.3 idi? If so how difficult? Or is it worth it to just spend the money on a hypermax kit? I just got my hands on a intercooler from a psd never opened for a hundred bucks... Waste of money?

    As far as the thermocouple goes I'll have to check that out, I have noticed a line just before the turbo. But haven't checked it out yet my guess would be on the manifold. But we will see...

    Alright, so I have a fresh 7.3L IDI with a sidewinder kit. It runs a 33in tire with 4.56 gears. I run on average 600*f and max out at 12 psi of boost. The most I've ever read on my egt is 900. Is that too hot? And my next question is what can I do for more pulling power? I know she's an old idi...
