    Need help with International tractor

My International TD340 crawler just started stalling. It has an International 4 cylinder D166 diesel engine. it fires up fine then slowly loses rpm until it stalls. It runs great when you fire it up but after a minute it loses power. I changed the fuel filter and checked the flow out of the...

New toy - Small crawler Backhoe

To late for the front lawn thing but since it's in the middle of the woods nobody will ever know. If I start sliding I will definitely turn it into the slide. This is good advice 'cause there are a lot of hills in gold country. Grease. I was warned I'd need a ton of grease but I didn't...

New toy - Small crawler Backhoe

Check out the new toy. It's an International TD-340 crawler backhoe powered by a d-166 diesel engine. It's supposed to be from 1975 but I haven't checked the serial number yet. With all the deadwood in the forest I need to fabricate a cage before I take it into the woods for some serious use...

Left Coast GTG April 9th&10th 2011

I know the house. I live on Brown's Road on the other side of Weber Creek as the golf course. It's the road just before the store when you are coming from downtown Placerville. It sounds like you know the area really well. Brian

IDI Gathering on the West Coast?

Russ, Yes, you do need a gun to get through Rancho Cordova but only if you don't have a turbo (too slow uphill). Brian

IDI Gathering on the West Coast?

I've got a house in Placerville (about 45 minutes from Sac). Anyone and everyone is welcome to stay there as there is plenty of room. And, yes, you can sit on the front deck and drink beer and shoot guns. Just ask towcat. Don't be surprised if I ask you to cut down a tree or two. Brian

How much oil in the A/C compressor

I accidently tipped over my A/C compressor in my 86 F250 and a bunch of oil spilled on the floor. Anyone know how much oil the compressor holds (factory compressor)? I'm planning on adding about one third of the total capacity since some of the oil is still inside. Does this sound reasonable...

    ARP Head studs (again)

    Here's a price summary. Summit: $259.95 + $11.95 S&H = $271.90 Northern: $229.97 + $26.99 = $256.96 From their web site Northern: $229.97 + $15.13 = $245.10 From their eBay ad I guess Northern is the best deal. Brian

Monte, Would you mind dropping off any leftovers in Placerville. It's not really a very long drive. Your diesel will love the 6-hour round trip highway jaunt. Brian

New owner - West Sacramento, CA

Russ, Yes I have the gauges but I won't head up to Placerville until the weekend of the 4th. Just hook your gauge to the low pressure side, run the engine, turn the A/C on full and add a maximum of 2 cans to the system. The compressor should stay running as more freon gets into the system...

New owner - West Sacramento, CA

No, the static pressure will vary with temperature the same as any sealed system (pressure vessel) but it has no real useful meaning. Where are you in Sac? I have a house in Placerville. Brian
