IP timing adjustment on econoline van

I agree, out of line. No real reason to charge more for a van for timing. Open hood, lean over, close ya eyes... feel the bolts. Use a mirror... If you have to pull the pump out, it will be easier taking it through the cab... unbolt seat, doghouse... how many hours does that take.

    saginaw pump picture

Hey, I can probably get you a pic as I'm tearing through my vans engine bay... the power steering is the only thing on it at the moment. What exactly do you need pics of? The pump bracket is bolted to the aircon bracket and block.

    PICK A TURBO

I'm in the process of working out how to best re-arranging my tiny engine bay to fit an intercooler in my van, doghouse is off so I took a looksee. The hypermax garret turbo is setup 0.70 cold and 1.15 exhaust. With a stock pump I was seeing just about on 15psi and 1300 on the pyro. I think an...

    CCV drain

Hi, Anyone know if there is a spare plug hole into the sump? Preferably on the drivers side. There looks to be a bolt into the block, just above the oil filter... not too sure what it's for though. I'm looking for a place to drain oil out of the CCV back into the sump. cheers

How much transmission fluid a C6 needs?

It holds about 10 quarts. 1 or 2 more if you have a deeper pan or drain your convertor.

Van does not pulls the hills well anymore

I went up and over the I70 a while back in my van. 3.55's and 35's probably a bit of drawback on the mountains. The fuel system had about 80 thou. I was making 15psi 1300 on the pyro, engine and tranny pretty much on the heat limit. 45ish in second or second over. But damn it was fast on the...

    Truck not starting

I just installed an electric pump with a switch. I leave it off other than if I need a prime. And run on the mechanical. Dosen't seem to hamper the flow any.

    fuel pressure

Yeah, I'm only using the electric for priming, for the moment. Are those BB chev plates a direct fit? Still getting a reading of 10psi at idle with the electric pump off. Maybe my gauge is out.

Driving on the wrong side of the road... right? Yeah, I have the occasional mistake when I turn into a side road and there is no traffic for reference. Try and keep the steering wheel in the centre of the road, seems to be no problem. Vegas seems pretty busy, 'cause the NASCAR is on...

Hi guys, Well, I've been driving west across country from Denver over the last week and just arrived in Vegas for the weekend. It hasn't been exactly easy going. Alot of air leaks... dead batteries from cranking. Getting stranded in the middle of nowhere has led to meeting some good people...

Thanks guys, That web site is pretty useful. I might hit you up Towcat, if I get as far as Yosemite. You're not too far from there right? I'm only on the road for two weeks, lots to see in between Denver and Longbeach. Might have to do a few 500 mile days ! cheers

It might pay to take it back to the inspection place, what we in Oz call "The Pits" and have another crack. Sometimes it's just the pen pushin numpty jobsworth that's all brainwashed by paperwork and red tape, one day ya vehicle fails, the next day, different bloke, different mood, it passes...

I know there is no “stock” intercooler. Just knocking for ideas. It’s damn hot down here. 100 to 120F over the peak of summer. So, definitely wanna keep aircon, and looking at an ally rad. The van will be working pretty hard in that sorta heat, especially offroad, soft beaches etc Was...
