Started putting a set of aluminum return caps on my dads truck tonight. Drivers side 4 are on I will start it up in the morning to see if I have any leaks.
I dont tow that heavy or have AC. It became my daily driver last year when I started playing around with wmo. So usually I am just hauling sail boat fuel.
solid lines or a manifold that fits over all 4 injectors is that going to be any better than a good quality cap with a good quality fuel line? I put the aluminum set on my truck on 7-17-2012 and had 188750 miles. Now more than a year later truck has 218002 miles so 29252 miles problem free. I...
Thanks for the fan offer but I think I am going to go electric. has anyone ever put something together like this? Our sheet metal fab guy at work owes me a favor so this might be it.. Would need to figure out what fans to use.
I drove the truck yesterday with no fan and maybe its just a...
I picked up a 5 gallon paint mixing thing that you put in your drill. I had to extend it a bit but this works great. Put in the wmo and rug then blend it all together. Thats the best way I found to mix the 2.
What I was seeing in the plastic caps is they are not very round. The best ones were the original gray ones. Also the black replacement caps were a bit bigger.
I took my clutch fan off to replace my water pump and I placed in thread nut side down on my work bench. It sat there like that for 2 days I picked it up today to put it on and there was a puddle of oil under it. Why would it leak oil and is that an indication its junk? Is there a way of...
Thinking about this solid manifold vs individual caps. If you have individual caps and one starts to leak you only have 2 o-rings do deal with, if they are all in a manifold you have to pull the whole think and deal with 8 o-rings.
It would be interesting to see a print or the tolerances on the injector spacings on these engines.
Every time I see that truck pic avatar ( i think that right) I think its my old plow truck I sold about 2 years ago.
This is interesting seeing everyone ideas on this. Could a solid manifold be made, I would think so as long as you know the exact measurements between the injectors.
This is the part of my job that I really enjoy! I like looking at things and seeing how I can improve them and or make something work better. I also like the challenge. Most of what i do at work is look at the print and make the part put it on the skid and move on to the next part, but when I...
