    Bigger parts coming

Thank you one and all for your kind words, wishes, hopes and prayers. Empty it feels like it has a lack of power. I got the timing set a bit better and that did help. Next question is one of inter-cooler first or the turbo, I/P and injectors? * I had some guy in a newer truck, they all pretty...

    Dimbulbs...

Are you using a name brand LED? Sylvania? Or cheap land of almost? I had the same problem with a dash mounted LED. I changed it to an incandescent. No more glow. Sylvania didn't make one for my application.

    Bigger parts coming

Now it needs the pearl paint, Larger fuel system parts, inter-cooler, hidden 5th wheel hitch, (2017?) front bumper with an electric winch, and somewhere around 15K it should be about done. However that transfer case still has a provision for a PTO pump. . .

    Bigger parts coming

('94 CC Dually 7.3idiT) So I finally got the Allison in (From CAConversion in Florida) along with a reverse front shackle on a Dana 60. Then with a coil to leaf spring change over in addition to a 4x4 conversion. Add the Eaton Truetrac rear diff and an Elocker front diff along with the Promar...

    Time to defeat my FSS?

Turning off the fuel is easy enough to do in several instances. Now that the FSS failed on the side of the road and won't turn on, NOW What? I dropped an email to Oregon Injection in Eugene and no such luck with a cable on/off. My next best bet would be to carry extra FSS and tools. The only...

    STATIC TIMING 7.3

Static timing being set prior to firing and it has to be close enough to run. I dug out the fancy timing light contraption and scraped the paint off of #1 injector pipe, connected the 'Jen-U-Wine, A-Dapter' and noted the small wire going to the "Jen-U-Wine, A-Dapter' was on the bottom and not...

    Time to defeat my FSS?

Black dawg. You are one funny dude. Ever try to train a woman how to use the accessory position with a key to listen to the radio? " It came on an' that's ALL I needed. " * Install a dash mounted cable for FSS on/off and the key operates the electric fuel pump. So push the cable to start...

    STATIC TIMING 7.3

Greetings one and All. Static timing set Looking down at the IP from the front of the truck. I have a scribed line on the Timing Gear Cover I have a second scribed line on the Injection pump. As you are looking down, from the front, Does the scribed line on the pump go to the right OR Left Of...

Turbo / snail / Hat fitment

Took a pic and before I smack the (JB WELD?) glued on turbo hat with a hammer to dislodge and potentially destroy the snail, Should it be closer to the turbo? Looking at this tells me I have a larger problem of the turbo sitting back too far and not plugging into the hat correctly. What say you...

    Major Setback

That title is a bit misleading but it got your attention. I have been plugging away at this truck for some time. It was the wife's idea that I just expanded upon. Well, she moved to Heaven without me on the 19th of April at 11.25 PM. Good people, leave your spouse a list of everything you own...

    Body mounts

I just did a set of Poly on the '94 cc dually. Poly is cheap enough from rockauto. About $125/130. I got a 3 inch pipe from an exhaust shop with a length of All thread (1/2-13?) for the center. I found a chunk of 3/8 flat steel to drill through and then picked up 3 nuts. two at the bottom and...

    6.0 (?) Intercooler on the '94 7.3 idiT

Here I am about to get the project on the road, next week or so, Looking at things and considering the future, short and long term and more ways to dump money in this cash cow. . . INTERCOOLER. I did a fast search for a 6.0 kit and found one, I believe, at roughly $15/1600. This would require...

Is This a C6 Crank Spacer or E4OD?

Mine is around here somewhere. . . . E4OD spacer. The Allison kit had another one in it, different sized.

    Turbo blanket

I like the starter blanket idea. That turbo stuffed in the rear and the down pipe near the firewall also is in need of something. I found that out when pulling back the carpeting to get the trans tunnel cover off.

Sounds like head gasket to me.

I created a monster '94 idiT CC Dually

Diesel leak at the L/R return fitting and the official oil leak at the right V/C under the fuel filter. Oh joy. Better than pulling the engine for a rear main.

I created a monster '94 idiT CC Dually

Oops. The Allsion behind that 7.3 idiT just wants to go. I finally fired the B*ch off after 19 months of delay, loss of interest, weather conditions, family matters, etc and it leaked. Sunny Beach. Crawl under and looking at the cross over exh pipe and it is pouring out all over the pipe...

White smoke when engine is cold

Coolant level is doing what? You sure your just not seeing the vapor that builds up inside the exh system that needs heat to burn off?

Pillar Post Gauge pod // survey

Fun morning begins with 64.7 yr old brain forgetting log in name and password. "New territory". I have a sneaking suspicion way back in my head this might turn into a Cummins somewhere down the road. Maybe. I have a few other mods that need to get finished first and a few other projects that...

Pillar Post Gauge pod // survey

I believe the Allison converter spins in first and possibly second gear. After that it is locked up for the rest of the gears. The better part of that Allison trans is it is supposed to assist in vehicle braking. Might be a 'rotten slush box' but it appears to be better designed than the E4OD...

Pillar Post Gauge pod // survey

The Allison kit came with a Derale trans line 90/10 thermostat. 90% of the trans fluid goes back to the trans until it gets to 180(?) degrees at which time the cooler gets full flow. The temp gauge on the trans is just cheap insurance. Boost gauge is in the back of my head as the turbo hat was...

Pillar Post Gauge pod // survey

Well the wife took a nap on me today or else I would have fired off this 19 month project. 20 months? This also accommodates the periodic loss of interest. So. . . Around here somewhere in my collection I have a 4 gauge pod to stuff into the left corner. I figured, Oil Pressure, Water Temp...

    '94 F350 Carrier Bearing Drop Spacer / 3" lift

That sounds like a hella good plan. Looking at the pic, something has to happen. Nasty part is no one has a pre-made spacer available for this year/application. I will be pulling it apart, a rough measurement and then see what I can stuff in there temporarily while I check angles and dangles...

    Early 94 CC Duallie 4x4 Conversion / Dana 60 / RFS / Superduty springs/ Track bar

I had to fab my own Pan hard bracket from a chunk of flat steel and I am about a week away from being on the road. I was going to finally fire it off today and the wife decided to take a nap during the hot time of the day. So, that makes it tomorrow when it's above 40 degrees again sometime...

    '94 F350 Carrier Bearing Drop Spacer / 3" lift

This toy started life as a 2WD vehicle. This toy has become a case of, "I should have stopped playing" at the Allison and Truetrac rear end. The 4X4 swap has become a bit of a(n expensive) PITA complete with spring swap, etc. This was just to keep the wife with an automatic. As far as leaving...
