hydro boost question

I picked up a hydroboost unit from a 2nd generation Powerstroke and I am having problems trying to figure out what size the first big hole it on the master cylinder the one on the very end, I went to orielys and the small hole on the back of the master cylinder is 1/4 but the front one I can't figure out its almost 1/2 but its too big not 7/16 ethier ideas? trying to convert them to 3/16 to fit my lines i have one figured out.

Um, if you are using a Super Duty master cylinder with the hydroboost unit, I'm pretty sure they came with 4 wheel disk brakes. You either need to do some sort of mod to it or use a master cylinder designed for disk+drum brakes or it won't work right.

In my experience, using a '04 PSD Hydroboost unit on my '88, the '88 master cylinder "worked"... by modifying the bolt mounting holes and using a bolt+nut on either side. Also, it required a custom spacer to deal with the difference in depth - the "rod" goes further into the '88 MC than the '04.

The 99+ SuperDuty master is metric I think..... I've not had mine apart, but I remember guys having to get creative to marry a SuperDuty (Not F-Superduty) hydroboost to an IDI era truck......

*IF* you want a drop-in hydroboost, it needs to be off a 1988 to 1997 F450. anything else requires expensive adapters.
