Is there another option for sensor?
I don't know, but the 1/8" NPT threads were made for a boost line for an analog gauge. Kind of like the lines that analog oil pressure gauges use.
Depending on what the bottom of the sender looks like, you also might be able to get away with a 1/8" NPT to 1/4" NPT adapter.

Could you use a thread adapter on the bottom of the sensor to fit the threads?

I’ll tell you this. I have the max tow gauges and absolutely hate them. They don’t go dim enough for night time travel. I don’t trust the boost gauge at all. I’ve been from -4 psi under load to 31psi (as turbo with some secret Russ stuff done) so yea. The water temp seems decently accurate and same with oil pressure.

^^^THIS^^^

You could even use an extender with pipe fittings on the ends. Since it's just a boost gauge it reads pressure. The pressure will be the same no matter the size or shape of the pipe to the sender (at least close enough for the gauge).

Make sure to have the sender mounted in a way that oil can drain back out of it. As much oil gets in the intake of these, I think even just being on a 90 could let oil accumulate in the sender.

On N/A blocks, the oil pressure port is 1/8"NPT. It's 1/4"NPT on a Turbo block. I think the water temp port is 1/2"NPT, but I may be wrong on that one.

i was thinking of putting the oil pressure sensor on the back top drivers side of block, there is a large square headed plug that I thought was one of the listed places for oil pressure?

No. There are no plugs in the upper part of the block. The square headed plugs in the heads are for coolant. The oil galley plugs are along the bottom of the block on the driver's side, right above the oil pan. They are 1/8"NPT and have a 9/32" square head from the factory.

Thanks for correcting me, bronco. I’ll see what I can find it to hook it up.

Aren't there oil plugs on the back header of the oil cooler? I guess that one might be in use for the turbo. :Q
