Offset is a just a setting, not your actual degree of timing. Iirc, you want 20* of offset with it in the gp hole.

Offset is set correctly
Two to watch for on these timers,
Sand the injection line bare for the piezo clamp and ground.
Pickup basically needs to rub, paper thin clearance.

You aren’t getting a good signal off the crank. It shows the offset if it’s not getting a good crank signal. Been there.

Auto correct on the phone and the fact the words come out faster in my head then my fingers can move is a challenge some times, I had a hard time getting the magnet sensor down in the hole and back out I used a drill bit the same size by hand to clear it out but it didn't go well bc I had to use channel locks just to get it out I was saying in the picture I noticed he didn't have the spring that sits in that grove that I would assume is for holding it still do we have to take it out to get the sensor into the hole like does it make it to wide

Yes I had trouble with mine. I ended up taking the drill to mine. I did also remove the spring clip.
