E-fuel pump install, hose route, filter Qs

I plan to add an electric fuel pump to my truck, excessive cranking to purge air after sitting is just a drag, and the thought of having to do a filter change on the side of the road sounds bloody awful! I have a side-by-side relay mount I harvested from the local junkyard to run the pump, and...

    Overdrive

I don't remember what logic I have read the transmission control module uses for setting the O/D light (whether a condition must happen 'x' number of times to set the light on versus flash), but I seem to remember that any code in memory is deleted when the ignition is turned off. Seems...

So what did you do with your truck today?

Looks like an exhaust brake. Google-ing "D-Celerator" brought up posts on various forums about D-Celerator being a US Gear product.

    E4OD won't move from stop in D

Howdy! Ah, the woes of E4OD diagnosing. Have you ever checked the rear brakes to see if there is anything hanging up or dragging severely? I had symptoms very similar to what you are experiencing and could not make any heads or tails of it, but after having the truck down for other repairs I...

    VE 12V starting

My experience with running any alt fuels is limited to mechanical diesel engines with a DB-2 injection pump, haha. Though running WMO should generally be the same between Ford/International and Dodge engines but the particulars are down to the injection pumps themselves. Jesus Freak has an...

    What is this?

I believe it is just meant to be a drain point in case the rear main seal or transmission input shaft seal leak. My own humor states that that drain is part of the waste oil ejection system that NASA engineers at IH designed to coat the chassis in oil so it lasts as long as the engine.

So what did you do with your truck today?

Finally managed to wrestle the bottom bolt off a serpentine belt 7.3 IDI. I spent a few days with my grandparents so I raided my 91 y.o. grandfather's toolboxes for tools to get that danged bolt off and prep to replace ball joints on the Dana 50 TTB. Anyone replace the serpentine belt vacuum...

    Manual Transmission Oil Cooler

Howdy Trikebent! There are companies that manufacture PTO-mounted passive coolers/filtration add-ons, so it could be anything. In my own research for part numbers for a BW 1356 I came across Torque King PTO side cooler, though if transmission PTO covers are tapped 1/8" could those covers have...

Things that make you go Hmmmmmm

A P pump on an International!? THAT actually sounds pretty cool! But then designing a system that operates the glow plugs and measures individual cylinder in-precup temperature sounds cool too.

    Black Diesel On The Road!

I need to just finally take a picture of the equipment . . . but anyway, I bought an Arctic Fox coolant-heated fuel pick up. I was planning on welding up an increased capacity front tank for the truck so I could run the viscous alt fuels without thinning nearly as much but have gotten to...

Old fuel. Should you run it or pitch it.

I have a fuel transfer pump that I attached a 10 micron fuel filter to, so whenever the weather cooperates I just hook the pump up to pull through the metal fuel lines that run along the frame to the engine mounted lift pump. The pump sucks through the FSV, pushes the fuel through the filter...

    Black Diesel On The Road!

I've burned a lot of WMO, ATF, SVO, dino diesel. Ran a few thousand miles on alt fuels but stopped to rebuild cylinder heads and diagnose hard starting issues. WMO viscosity range and cleanliness are important for pumps and atomizing through injectors so centrifuging is A+. I would separate the...

    Black Diesel On The Road!

Absolutely correct! The only reason why I put fuel returns to each tank was so that as the engine is running off of a particular tank, its return would be routed to that respective tank. I depicted spring return solenoid valves being inline with the supply and return of each tank. Ideally, the...

    Black Diesel On The Road!

My guess would be unleaded petrol, just like using the shorthand RUG. Platypuss, I put a Microsoft 'paint' diagram together depicting your setup, as I understood it. The top right corner has a resemblance to what I might have as an on-the-road WMO collector, the manifold shows a bypass section...
