1993 Ford F-Super Duty XLT - "Log Truck" (new to me truck-pic heavy)
Good stuff! Brings back memories doing mine, the Tugger Kit was actually pretty fun (though I found a accum. valve spring-in-a-spring that was broken (they are brittle) which made me nervous putting the new ones in!) 4x4 question
Check the easiest things first, the shift lever mechanism outside the transfer case is known to let go. You can bypass it and put a vice grip directly on the case lever so pop it into H4 or H2. The shift pattern is a straight line at the case so it is pretty easy to unbolt the base of the lever...- SDEconVan

Gut swap conversion 2wd t 4wd e4od
It can be done, I've done it. Be sure you're dealing with a diesel version of the E4OD. Changing the output shaft will throw all the tolerances out so you'll need to buy a set of snap rings of various thicknesses along with shims, depending upon whether the center support has been upgraded...- SDEconVan

oilburner22: I built my E4OD up a bit, to a Stage 3 by most standards. The pre-95 E4OD's get a bad rap, in fact when I bought mine I was shocked to find Gas CAR parts in a Diesel case! I upgraded everything and went with a few extras like a US Shift "Quick 1" controller. Best shifting...- SDEconVan

C6 auto..reliability?
C6 Diesel trans is tough but it's important to take care of it. Previous owner let this one go, when the van was being loaded onto the carrier, the rear wheels caught on the ramp, driveshaft twisted up, and back of the transmission broke off. Always flush your transmission fluid regularly...- SDEconVan

transfer case help needed. poor favor.
Here's the front drive shaft at transfer case, at max droop. Doesn't show just how steep the angle is, probably the camera. Second shot is moderate stuff, not on the limiters/bumpers, but you get the idea. Those are 1350's at both the axle ends, so I had to get the right diff yoke on the...- SDEconVan

I hope this is on topic. I converted my BW1356 to Powerstroke output flanges front and rear. The two reasons were specific to the 4x4 conversion I did (to a 6.9L idi van.) First the van is lifted 4" and has 14" of front travel using coils. So, the driveline angle can get steep at max droop...- SDEconVan

Realistic budget of a 2wd -4wd and goodies build
Sounding like my sentiments, I just acquired a '96 5.9L p-pump. Already have the 6-speed Allison 1000 (I'm going with auto.) Trying to sort out the transfer case choices... ...will be watching how you do on the other thread! Thx, George- SDEconVan
