Now that's funny. I went looking for IDI's and not a one. a saw a bunch of OH Hum every day what ever trucks, but not a single Heart OR Sack. Come on, these trucks are a dime a dozen, show me a real picture, let's see the IDI, not the ugly box enclosing it.- MARQ2277

IDI
Has any one rebuilt an IDI (7.3), and/or did any high performance work, such as crank, rod, and piston work. I would like to rebuild my 7.3, but add some parts so I can get more hp out of it. yep, your oil cooler,head gasket, or hydrolocking has taken place. sorry brother. yes. the 6.9 is a drop dead drop in without questons. only problem is the weight, it is heavier than you think, and a lot more, it is freakin' very heavy, hheeaavvyy. caution, the engine weighs a lot, and it...- MARQ2277

BIO DIESEL VERSUS USED OILS
Correct. I did some research on the internet, and I found plans on making a wvo line heater using glow plugs, some brass fittings, a thermostate, a relay, and a switch to activate it. All the parts come to less than $50.00, compared to $150 for a vegtherm. I know there are other ways also...- MARQ2277

BIO DIESEL VERSUS USED OILS
Okay, now I think I am getting somewhere. If I use filtered wvo, or wmo (veggie oil/motor oil), my rubber "O" rings, rubber fuel lines will be destroyed. My next question is, somesaid that wvo does not burn all the way. Is that the case, and if so, does anyone know why? I am trying to...- MARQ2277

In Bio-Diesel, the process is to basically remove Glycerin from the vegetable oil (which ever oil you use), by adding Lye and Methanol. I guess my confusion is that, why do people chemically (by adding lye and methenol, etc.) process veggie plus filter it if the oil is used; yet I read in this forum that a lot of diesel owners only filter the same veggie oil, and run it in there truck. Right on. Let me know how that 50 Ohm works. I still have the 25 Ohm in mine, but it's still only 3 Watts and gets hot. I will just replace it with a 25 ohm, 25 watt. Marq ________________________________- MARQ2277
