How well will this hold up?

Thanks for your replies! At least the truck passed a technical control (which every car here must undergo every second year, and which was overdue on the truck) with the damaged axle, so I have better time to find a replacement than I feared. However, parts for the rear axle seem more...

How well will this hold up?

Obviously I need to start looking for a replacement but that will take some weeks, so.. How big of a problem is this really: This is the slip-yoke at the carrier bearing on the rear driveshaft of my 1989 F250 7.3 IDI supercab. Someone had used a heavy hammer and wacked a serious dent on...

    Grease seal.

Thanks, will try the local shops and see what they can do.

    Grease seal.

Does anyone know where I can find an online source for a new grease seal for my two-part rear driveshaft on my 89 f250 supercab? Or a part diagram with parts numbers? That is the seal on the slip-yoke assy at the driveshaft bearing, as per picture. ****** has exploded, and I have tried all my...

    Bump stop, will this work?

Hi, First a little background story: My 89 F250 supercab has been lifted 4" but is back to stock height due to all the issues with lift and TTB, but the lift springs in the rear are kept. They are skyjacker 4" lift softride (? I think its called), and I have pulled one leaf from the pack and...

What spring rating for the front?

Hi! Need new front springs for the 89 f250HD supercab, IDI off course, and I'm not sure what springs to pick. Looking for best comfort, and don't run any plow or winch up front, so I don't need the biggest rating. But I don't wan't it to sag after a couple of months, either. I run airbags up...

Removing several leafs from a lift leaf pack?

Greetings! I have a set of 4" leaf skyjacker leaf-packs, that I would like to use with the original drop brackets.. I have already pulled that plate on the bottom of the leaf-pack and the bottom leaf, which dropped it down about 2". But that was not enough, the camber need to be adjusted in...

Front receiver mount for a 89??

Oooooh, I liked that site! ;Sweet Even with shipping to Norway it's still faster and cheaper than trying to find something locally.. 2"x2" square tube with 3/16" or 0.25" (thickest wall they got) should be enough I reckon? The rear hitch mount which is rated at 8000 lbs is made from a 3/16"...

Front receiver mount for a 89??

Hitch receiver, yes. I was planning to make one but wasn't sure how to construct the mounts to the frame, but notching the frame and welding it in place seem like a clean way to install it. Biggest problem is actually to get a hold of steel with the proper dimensions, at least to a reasonable...

Front receiver mount for a 89??

Hi! Are there any front receiver mounts available for a 89 f250 4wd diesel?? I can only find for 92 and up, and apparently there are some frame changes made in 92 so that won't fit my 89?

    oil pressure woes

Mine is also something like that, a little bit under 25 when hot and cruising, and the needle barely bothering to move when idling.

What Did Your Rig Get Toady.....

Well, a bit higher than usual also here. I think it it was 13 norwegian kroner per litre, which is $8.30 per gallon, last time I filled up the truck an the DD. Fortunately the DD gets 30 mpg, since the truck does something like 10 mpg these days.

    Reliable start-ups also below -15F?

Thanks for all the replys, for now I have swapped the oil for full synthetic 5w-40 and I reckon that will be it. I could swap in a nippondenso-style starter instead of the mitsu-style, but I'm not sure it will help that much. I got a real got listen the nippondenso starter when I tried to...

    Reliable start-ups also below -15F?

Found this when searching for info on switching from mineral to synthetic: Snipped from "the engine oil bible" http://www.carbibles.com/engineoil_bible.html Mixing Mineral and Synthetic oils - the old and busted concepts For the longest time, I had this to say about mixing mineral and...

    Reliable start-ups also below -15F?

Actually have 10 liters of 5W-40 fully synthetic oil which was intended for my toyota DD. Maybe I should give that a try for the winter months. It's rated API CF, that should be sufficient for an engine subjected to light duty work?
