Define no rollover noise
Im with the above guy here, if it SOUNDS like its causing damage, or otherwise just bad, it IS causing some damage, and is bad! also, guys with the SMF conversion normally pop the shifter off the top and add an extra quart, many threads talking about how it helps to quiet it down, maybe...- 89dieselbko

Possibly considering a 460 to IDI Swap
the 460 and id are different bolt patterns, but i have seen 460 trans redrilled for the idi pattern, i dont remember what all was involved in that, search around, or someone that knows more then me will see this im sure. if you push the issue enough, involve the BBB, hell even small claims court, i bet you would get your money back. A business cannot ship a bad product and refuse to take a return (in this case you had no idea the pump was bad, just based on a bent tab). Fight it, i assume they do have a business...- 89dieselbko

I dont think it was so much of me wanting to improve anything. More like one of those errant thoughts, that shouldnt be put into effect that is (remind to post some pictures up of my 1982 yamaha seca turbo 650 motor on a mid 90s 2x4 timberwolf frame... that was one errant thought that cost me...- 89dieselbko

oil cooler replacement.
i wanted to have it sit against the engine, basically in place of the oil one, but air cooled. I figured it would be easier to change in the event of a failure, as well as not have oil/freeze mixing. but yeah, talked me out of it, besides i just rebuilt the factory one, and the motor had 146k on...- 89dieselbko

Ok so working out minor details for the motor side of my rebuild, and i come to the oil cooler.... That will be the best route! I think the new mech pump i got from advance auto cost like 17 bucks, and you can always take it back and say something like.... its only puttin out 3.5 PSI so you went with a different supplier, and need to return it. normally they will only give store credit this...- 89dieselbko

This is not very good news bud, i have been talking with your pump builders about a pump for my 7.3 but now i dont know. Seems i should just save some more and give mel a call. Im close to 3700 in my engine now, between resleeving, all the other machine work, needed new pistons blah blah blah...- 89dieselbko

Soda blasting
yeah soda + paint sucks, you need to get a heavy duty solvant cleanser, AND a waterbourne cleaners. 837 prep solvant from PPG works well, but still need a waterbourne based cleanser, i THINK i use 897? or the like (also from PPG) and then i spray a 2 part epoxy/highbuild/corrosion resistant...- 89dieselbko

im curious, why did you go with the R&D pump over a moose? My engine is completely rebuilt :) but went way over budget, and have to get some other **** settled before the old lady will let me get a new pump to throw on it... R&D cheaper? more fuel per buck? i dont even know the CC on a...- 89dieselbko
