This truck is the first 7.3 I've had.
But I spent the last 20 years driving an 84, 6.9 with a c6.
Just didn't know the terminology.
Thanks for clueing me in.

I was like "two factory turbo trucks? Same year? With gear vendors? At the same time? Both in Texas? Nah, it's just a coincidence...

Just called Napa looking for the coolant additive test strips.
All he found was a radiator test kit for 90 something dollars. He said it has the strips, but he hasn't got a way to order one.
Anyone know where to find them?

go to any cat/cummins/ih/peterbilt/etc dealership, go to the parts counter and ask for DCA-4 test strips

Thanks Thewespaul and jwalterus

I spoke with the truck owner and learned some things.
It's an 1989 with a 94 engine.
The truck has just under 300,000 miles on it, no idea how many miles on the engine.
He's the second owner, previously owner did the engine swap and added a Garrett turbo.
He hasn't been using coolant additives, and doesn't think the 1st owner did.
Very little oil leakage.
Runs well.

Any deal breakers yet?

It may take a little time before I can look at it. The title is in his father's truck and his father went to Houston to help out.
