They use to be top notch, now its probably chinesium.

I have a guy from Spokane coming to pick up our B4V Saturday, and I have a coworker who will probably buy the BEW. I need to take the head off of that thing and inspect how bad the damage is though. Then a guy with a Westy is going to come pick up my ALH for a swap sometime hopefully in the next few weeks. And in about a year and half we are selling our JSW back to VW (for a large profit!) and picking up something bigger (Excursion again, Suburban, something like that). Then we will be out of the TDI game :(

Changed the cabin filter, fuel filter, oil and filter. Used Mann filters.
Used the same lubrication engineers monolec ultra 8800 I put in my truck.

Well the B4V is gone.

The BEW has been fixed and is my DD again. Almost 1k on it since head came off and new cam install. Cylinders looked great, turbo was fine (guess I was seeing things when I thought I saw the intake to the turbo came off).

JSW is going back to VW for over a 5K profit. Wife is now driving the 16 Jetta until we get something bigger and then it will be gone.

Timing belt is done.
Also removed the foam crap from the fenders. Common rust maker on vw's.
And I removed the stupid useless plastic panels underneath.

Have to wait for the flywheel. National backorder 2-3 weeks.

All in all, not a bad/hard job.

TDI got towed home last month. I finally got it in to see what happened. The ball joint bolt snapped and the came apart from the spindle and shredded the boot on my brand new axle.

New axle, ball joints and bolt here. But a customer car beating my buttocks hard, so who knows when this will come together haha.

I found seatbelt rebuilders on ebay. What's the general thought on this? The rear seatbelts are a mess. They lock, then they get stuck on childseat mode, then they won't lock.

Also both rear inside door handles broke again haha. If this thing didn't get such great fuel mileage I would set it on fire and dance around it.

The bolts were stock. Not the three that go to the control arm, the one that locks it into the spindle. So the "top" of the ball joint shredded the boot.

Well the CR is gone now, turn in took 15 minutes with half of that talking about old VW's.
Now to get rid of the 2016. Already have the replacement rig.

That's why I avoid VW people unless they are my customers haha. They love love love to chat. I don't understand when they see my falling apart 96 Passat TDI why they would think I want to hear about how many Sciroccos they built heehee.

Today I finally found steering rack bushings for my sloppy old girl. Maybe it will take less than a year to get to doing it? Finding parts almost always takes longer than the repairs!
