Depends on year of truck...if older cast Iron mc likely fits if newer AL mc it likely needs horbing out ears...

I'm starting to have uncharitable thoughts towards my truck.
Ok so I've tried two different hoses the 71442 and 71614 (71422) and the one from the power steering pump to the hyrdoboost doesn't not fit. The threads on the end of the hose are not quite long enough to catch
If you can tell from that picture.
I'm starting to think this is not an 87-9? hydroboost like everyone else has been using but something else all together. That or I'm not holding my mouth right as I put the hose on, one or the other. Either way, if anyone has any ideas that'd be great otherwise I'm going to do a bit of research and failing that have a hose made so I can drive my truck once more.

Where is boost from did it come complete w hoses?
Is that the PUMP end or BOOSTER end just so we are 100% clear?
If it is the PUMP end back up a bit and get more fittimg and steel line in pic please.
My pump has a different end on it BTW. IIRC LCAM informed me whqt year mine was speilcific to.
So you mqy have same as me but need see whole fitting

Boost is from eBay and only had the clipped ends of the hoses. That's it hydroboost side

Found out the unit is from an F350, not 450 though I wasn't sure there was really a difference between the two. I'm guessing it was F59 and just a chassis sent out not a full truck.
The search continues! One hydraulic shop I went to said they couldn't make the fittings which sounds a bit funny to me but I was in a hurry. I'm thinking the fitting may well be metric, 14 or 16mm perhaps.
I'm gonna make this work or I'm going to go crazy and take some of you with me.

Where did you go?
Usually orielly or bumper to bumper is pretty good with making hydraulic lines.

If from F350 yes metric fittings sorry to say.
You need to detrmine year.
I am guessing the modern F2/3/4/550 Super Duty
Does the Hydro itself have 2 hard lines about 4 - 6" long coming off of it? They would accept a flex line or another fitting going into them and if so its the modern SD not the BRICK/OBS Style which is direct bolt in
Pics more of them and as I said a wee further back from fitting too.
But based on your description now I am seriously betting metric and no fittings are available just full lines which do you no good.

only the f-super duty AKA f450 trucks came with hydroboost for our era trucks.so if you have a ford hydroboost unit that came off an f350,then it's from a 99+ super duty truck (whenever they got hydroboost + )
you'll need to figure out if the push rod length will work or not or need o modified etc.you should see about returning it.the hydroboost part# for our trucks is: E8TZ-2005-B

it bolts right up with no fuss and the lines etc are easy to find that will screw right in.4 hours and your stopping like a modern truck and beyond.

Yeah my conclusion is that it's all metric and isn't gonna work. I'll let the seller know what's up as he advertised it as being from an F450.
Back to vacuum brakes for awhile. :cries:
