Not to insalt you, but in this economy around here. Id say 2000-2500, i mean i just was offered a 1989 f-350 4x4 with a 460 5-speed for 900 bucks, it needed a clutch and the bed had extended fender wells but point is he was selling the whole truck for what the rears used to fetch. Id have the truck, but i had some bills that needed payed and money was tight so i missed it. Your truck looks beastly thou with the wagon wheels and tires so somebody may see it, get a ******* and pay 3000 cause they fell in love at first site...

Sadly i could part the truck out for way more than what im seeing so if i decide to get rid of it id probably go that route. Im not gunna take a low price on it, its a work horse and beside the little rust its a solid truck.

Think ill hang onto it and use it for a beater truck take it out the bush n hammer the **** off it.

Around here you wouldnt get 2K for that truck. My 95 K1500 283K Z71 Leather w/ added heated seats, perfect interior, nice paint for the yr, chip, 2 10" kickers w/ 500w amp, straight pipe, lift pump, new balancer and water pump, new batteries, good tires, 120K of service records and available records from PO (since new) wouldnt bring 2500 here. Engine has almost no blow by and runs amazing. Rockers are rusted, 2 bad cab mounts and one mount pad really just needs replaced, and a "buddy" borrowed it and caved a bed side in.

I said F it, I can buy a rust free truck with a blown motor and transfer everything over and sell what I dont keep for spare parts. Found my 93 c3500 crew cab dually and paid $700 for it, straight body, rust free, blown oil cooler line. It will make a nice rig with a 2yr old and soon to be one on the way...

Big difference between a Ford and a Chevy. No offense intended, but people will always pay more for an old diesel Ford than an old diesel Chevy...

Around here, 2k would be a starting asking price.

Almost any old truck is worth more parted out, but if it is a good truck, why not just sell the thing to some one that needs it?
There is a significant amount of time in parting one, and then dealing with people buying parts.

Around here the Chevy's were well taken care of, so they always resell for high value. I'm talking clean rust free trucks. The fords are all beat up work trucks.

I kinda prefer the gm diesels over the 7.3 idi. Can't speak for the 6.9 because I haven't had one. Also would take IFS over TTB any day.

Well everyone has their preference I guess. The 7.3 IDI is a much better engine than a GM 6.2 or 6.5 though. No question about that. As far as front ends go, there is something to be said for the IFS over the TTB, but a well sorted out TTB is still a very stout solid setup and getting an F350 gets you a D60 solid axle which may ride kinda stiff, but is better than all of them. In the NW, Fords command much more money than Chevy diesels until we start talking about the powerstrokes and duramaxes. The old Fords were just built better, built stronger, and have a nicer interior than the Chevys. As far as the engines go, the 7.3 and 6.9 are nearly identical. A 7.3 is just a bored out 6.9. There are some slight internal differences, but not much. That makes a 7.3 more prone to cavitation, but the 6.9's make less power. However, a turbo'd 6.9 is still a lot stronger than a factory turbo 6.5.

If the truck was a crew or even an extended cab, you would have no problem getting a good price for it. One thing I have learned in my years of horse trading vehicles is that standard cab and half ton trucks just dont sell well. A big reason alot of people buy these diesel trucks is they think that they can have their cake and eat it too. A fullsize pick-up truck that gets decent fuel economy and can be used to haul the family around. People want them to be dual purpose and a standard cab doesnt offer that. Your better off keeping it and getting your use out of it as you would probly never get out of it what it would take to replace it.

My 7.3 and all the rest I've been in must just run like shiate then. Yeah the Ford's have a bit more torque lower down, but as far as comparison to my 6.2, doesn't feel that far off.

Don't get me wrong, I like the fords also, but people that have no experience with the gm diesel's are usually the one's saying they're crap, when in reality they are great for what they were made for. (Not saying that's you, just usually)

I wonder why the fords are all beat up old work trucks.

As far as ford vs chevy IDI, the chevy is a nice, quite, and smooth running engine compared to the 7.3........BUT as far as being beat on and neglected, I have never had the chevy hold up.

I've seen both equally beat, but generally see more well taken care of Chevy's.
Who would go beat the **** out of a nice truck?
To me they're almost equal.
The only ones I've seen not hold up started with a D and ended with ram! Roflmao.

Probably for the best.

6.5's held up fine in hmmwv's and we beat the snot out of them. I've drained the oil and put some thing on the peddle and walked away to make 3rd change the engine and not one that I've done that to has ever shot parts out of the bottom.

I paid 2k for a crew cab 5 speed factory turbo IDI. It had a little rust on the driver's side front fender and the wheel wells just starting. Paid $2k with 188k miles. Very clean truck for MA. Interior is nice as well. Needed IP and injectors after about 3k miles.

Paid $1900 for my 89 Crew cab N/A E4OD with a little bit of wheel well rust and small spots on the front fenders. Had minor issues and didn't like to start easily.230k miles and a recent transmission.

Prices have gone up due to the recent diesel craze. Strokes could be had for 4-6k in good shape. Now people have lost their minds and want 6500k for trucks with 250k miles that need transmissions.

The main thing killing your price is paint. I'd say 2500ish would be reasonable. Don't see you getting nearly 3k parting it out.
