Dually bed fitment ???

My 1991 dually bed has rusted thru the side of the box above the dually flares. I can find a bed w/o flares cheap.

Are the dually bedsides the same from 1980- 1996??

I know there were changes but what years are compatible with my 1991 flares?

OR... I can get an older rust free bed complete.

Man I wish we were closer, I just gave away a long wide bed for a 1990.

I have a lead on a nice dually bed thats missing the flares. If my flares will fit its a great deal. All I can tell is its at least an 1987 or newer.

I thought 1987 to 1996 beds were the same. looked in a body parts catalog seen 1987 to 1991, then 1992 to 1996 bed parts? Now I don't know what is true.

I also have the option of a nice looking bed from an 1985 complete with flares, lights and all. just a further drive to pick up & a little more $ since its complete. Course not sure if the bolt holes would line up??

80-86 have different body lines on the bottom of the bed to match those of that year truck. Bed from 87-98 f350 dually will bolt on and match up no poroblems.

I thought the only difference between the 80-86 and the 87-up beds was the wheel arch opening, flat on the 80-86 and curved on the 87-up. If there is anything else different, it's just minor cosmetics that no one would notice except a Ford truck nut. They all bolt on, but I believe the later beds left out two of the bolts. And of course they changed the tailgate hardware through the years, but that's no worry if it comes with the tailgate.

If you look at the body lines on an 80-86 they are quite different and pretty obvious when on a newer truck. Maybe someone can post up a pic of the differences for us.

So does this mean my 1991 fender flares will fit on any 1987 thru 1996 dually beds that already have the dually cut out ??

Just the wheel openings are different. My truck has a 84 front end, and a bed off of a 87-97. Nobody else ever notices the difference, but it bugs the hell out of me.

At this point I'm thinkin I'll get the bed w/o fender flares and re-use my flares. I'm believing that flares off an 1991 should fit 1987 thru 1996 dually bed that's missing the flares.

I see no difference from 1987 to 1996 bed lines. A friend said there was a different part # for dually bed fenders after 1991 so they are not compatible. this is what was in a body shop manuel. I think 1987 to 1996 is the same. I just dont want to bring home a bed, take mine off, remove my flares and find they won't fit
