Just bypassing the controller with a pushbutton right?

If its push button it should be battery voltage from the get go. The relay doesn't adjust voltage. I didn't think the controller could either since it just toggles the relay itself unless its only partially energizing the relay somehow which sounds bad...:dunno

The glow plugs draw lots of amps at first then decrease as they get hot, that is why the voltage drop at first, pushbutton or controller/ relay, doesnt matter.

So we have determined that all eight glowplugs work, the fuel shut off solinoid is operational, and the lift pump is new and working properly. Is there history to this ailment or did it just happen to be hard starting one day? A hot engine with good compression and a fresh injection pump should start with one revolution of the crank;Really Leaky return lines, weak starter, batteries or alt, battery cables in good cond? Any one of these issues you may get away with for a while. When they compound, its a nightmare:mad:

All eyes are pointing to your IP. Do you know how old it is? Does the truck start again when cold? Sorry for all the questions, just trying to establish whats going on with your rig.

And yes, please put ether away.
