Welcome to the forum. You will never see fuel pumping out from an injector line at the injector. these engines do not use much fuel at idle or cranking speeds. Try to start the engine when its cold. If it starts then you may have a heat soak issue. This is when an injection pump is worn out and the clearances in it are way too big. The pump can't make enough pressure to force fuel past the injectors. If the engine is warm and you can't fire it up pour cool water on the injection pump towards the intake manifold. That will shrink the pump interanls. If it fires up your pump is shot. Also on the fuel filter housing is a shrader valve. It looks like a valve used to air up any tire on our cars or trucks. Crank the engine and depress the valve. If air and fuel come out you have air getting in somewhere. Look at the lift pump under the vacuum pump. If its wet looking its probably shot. They cost around $25.00. Hopefully this starts you on the track to a running truck.

got all the air out of schrader valve and fuel is coming out perfect just put a new lift pump on so it shouldnt be that.there was fuel coming up to the fuel filter and out of the filter to the ip.thanks

Sounds like your fuel pump is fine. With the key on pull the wire on top of the pump, and then retouch it to the spade connector. If you here it clicking then your fuel shut off solenoid in the pump is working fine. If you hear nothing establish you have power, if so then the solenoid is bad. Try what Gary said to when the pump is hot, pour some cold water on it. If it works after that, replace pump, it done. Do make sure you have no air in the system though.

ok so that means the solenoid is working. You need to figure out where the air is getting in, but it still should fire after getting all the air out. especially after sitting for only 2 hours. Are you getting white smoke out of the tail pipe when cranking? thats a sign that fuel is being injected but not burned.

i am getting just a little of blue smoke but not much and it seemed to smoke a little bit more when i sprayed just a little either in it but all the air is out theres fuel coming to the filter and out and i got all the air out of the valve at the fuel filter thanks

So if I got this right solenoid is working, you have fuel coming from the valve on the fuel filter housing, but no start. Sounds to me like your injection pump is not delivering fuel to the injectors. You can crack the injector lines to confirm that. Crack line, or lines, and crank engine, watch for fuel to bleed out. If nothing, your pump is delivering zero.

I've heard an improper install can bust the shaft in the IP. If you got a stick throw er in 2nd or 3rd and have a bud push you. If it's just air the engine will start

OK, first off... put the can of either away. This is a very bad conversation taking place because no attention is being given to the glow plugs, and if they are working or not. Everyone is focusing on the IP because you started the conversation with that topic. An engine sitting for 2 hours should not be heat soaked. 20 minutes, yes. An hour maybe. 2 hours... I don't think so. Anytime you start opening up lines or hoses you let air in. Don't start with that, especially injection lines. Let's be methodical here. First thing... check the glow plugs. Make sure you have continuity on all 8. Is the wait to start light behaving normally? Once we know the glow plugs are working, then lets talk about fuel. If you have smoke at the tailpipe and it's not trying to fire, you don't have a fuel issue. You have a timing or heat issue. Timing is not likely to have changed, since clearly the engine was just running fine. Sounds like the FSV is working. By now we have a totally different temperature situation I would imagine. Engine is cold? Cranking speed OK? Bring us up to speed on where things are now.

You've measured the voltage at the plugs while pushing the button? Should start out around 6 and climb to 11 in 12 seconds or so...

With starting fluid you can start anything with or without glow plugs. I hate to disagree with your theory, but I do. I think he doesn't have any fuel myself.

all glowpugs are working i have a bypass system for the glow plugs
Just bypassing the controller with a pushbutton right?

If its push button it should be battery voltage from the get go. The relay doesn't adjust voltage. I didn't think the controller could either since it just toggles the relay itself unless its only partially energizing the relay somehow which sounds bad...:dunno

To be honest with you, I have not used my glowplugs at all this week. Not even at 7am after sitting all night. Summer is here in full force. So 2 hours after a good run the engine should definitley be hot enough to start without hesitation.

I am curious about your cranking speed. Could it be possible that your alternator has died and you aren't cranking fast enough?
