What's wrong with the BFG AT?

I've got a set on mine, and they seem to be holding up to the DD/ Haven't towed with them yet, but the set I had on my PSD held up great.

the toyo's really wear well.

The nitto's not so much.

firestone does make the Destination A/T in a 315/75R16 LRE, excellent tire. Very quiet and priced right.

The GOodyear Duratrac is nice too, especially since its commercial grade and with the mail in rebate right now it just makes it sweeter.

theres the mail in rebate for the goodyear duratrac.

The firestone destination both the MT and the AT along with the duratrac are all load range E which is a plus for these heavy trucks. Personally i don't care for a D on the front with the heavy diesel.

The destination mt is a bit aggressive for your tastes. The AT is a quiet good wearing tire at around 200 a tire. The duratrac is about 210 a tire with the 40 dollar mail in rebate bringing it into the same price catagory as the Firestone destination. Bridgestone/firestone also sells the destination AT rebranded under the Fuzion brand as a load range D or E for around 160 a tire. But they changed the tread pattern just enough that they start cupping at around 15K.

BTW i sell a crap load of tires at my shop and i personally work on all the fleet vehicles.

The trucks i get, i install the duratrac's. they hold up quiet nicely. The firestone's ride nicer.

I must have gotten a good set of the Nitto's or something, because mine are wearing pretty well considering how heavy the Excursion is. They replaced some BFG's, cant remember which ones exactly, but those sucked. Wore like hell, and two of them started to come apart after about 50k miles, Ill never buy another set of them for any vehicle.

I put a set of Nitto Terra Grapplers on a friend's h2. They wore fairly evenly but didn;t come close to the 60K on the Toyo open country's

First I've heard of BFG's being particular to throwing stones. Seems to me any tire with decent tread is likely to pick them up. I've run them forever, and yes they do pick up a stone here and there, but so do the Z rated tires on my wife's Mustang. :dunno

I had terrible luck with the Terra Grapplers on my truck they wore smooth out in around 20k miles. I have been having good luck out of the Hankook dynapros i have on there now though.
