COLD START IDI VIDEO

I post up my video of a typical cold start for my truck, 6 seconds and it fires up. NO GP, NO either, NO block heater WARM 65F morning!

she should start quicker @ 65.
id say your cranking 2-3 times as much as it should take at that temp.
hows the compression,and glow plug system?
your starting system sounds good.turning over nice and fast.just not firing soon enough.

oh yeah my bad.he does say no GP's in the first post.
kinda ******* the starter doing that for the cold start.

Why wouldn't you use glow plugs?


Just because your truck can start without them doesn't mean I'd do it all the time

I wish there was a real easy upgrade over glowplugs that worked as good or better and cleaned up the clutter of wiring on the engine. I know some people have experimented with grid heaters but haven't heard whether anyone is pulling it off during winter.

Clutter of wiring?!?


Work on a Powerstroke and then talk about a clutter of wiring

Well yeah if comparing to a powerstroke but I just meant alot of wiring could be removed if there was something nice and simple. I'm not saying I am about to eliminate my glowplug system. It seems to work pretty good.
