It was the infamous "your sitting at a stop sign or on-ramp, and the guy in front of you goes, but doesn't really go...." deal. This girl in an 08' Honda CRV took off, and I looked to see if there was anything coming while I moved up. Problem was, she went, but she didn't leave. The 1/4" plate that forms the left side of the push bar made a nice crease in the back of her japmobile. Of course the Moosestang was undamaged, but I'm sure my wallet is going to be. Somewhere. Somehow. Eventually.

My mother did that with her DRW 7.3 TD F-350, (she still has it), hit a 2004 Kia at 4 mph, got really pissed off at the stupidity of the person (the only two people in the rotary were her and the other driver), pushed her out of the way and kept going. the only thing that cracked on it was her license plate bracket. Besides, the accident wasn't her fault...

The other person should have owned a truck.

and a brain.

I was driving the balck beast the other day. Was pulling out of my parking space pulling to the right. Well the truck beside me (07 chevy 1500) was parked at an angle. Black beast is a crewcab long bed. Was watching the front as I turned last second as it's tight parking. Passenger wheel arch trim demolished her brake light. $70 from rockauto should be here this week LOL. Wheel arch trim was a little dented but it's a farm truck so what the heck.

Do these kinda offset each other? She owned a truck but doesn't have a brain apparently. People who park like that need to retake their driving test.

No it was my fault should have been looking in the mirror. She was at a pretty big angle though...but I'll man up and admit the fault.

I must be OCD because I can not STAND parking at any kind of angle. I also can't take it when someone else does it. Ah look, your daddy bought you a new truck that you don't know how to park, I hope you get smacked. a CC longbed is nothing to scoff about either. that thing is a buss compared to that 1500, I'd say you done good for being that you hit her on her tail end with your tail end.

At the intersection of our little "Main"-street and KY-80, when leaving Main to take 80, you are having to pull out in a blind curve.

What makes this curve so blind is a big built-up mound that has a "project" apartment complex, complete with big shade trees and lots of parked cars.

For entertainment, we sit on the porch of the local feed-mill and watch the accidents at this dangerous intersection; usually at least four per day.

In nearly every incident, it happens just exactly like you described; the front car can't see, so he sort of nudges up in a vain effort to get a better look; the cell-phone blabber behind him assumes he actually went and slams into his rear. cookoo LOL

You weren't on the phone, were you ?? Just kidding; I know you are smarter than that. :)

So the other lady doesnt have a brain when your mom commited a hit and run. I tell you what, next time im in Mass, ill find your truck and push it out of my way and leave, say its your fault and then say you didnt have a brain. The accident was your mothers fault, she shouldve paid attention.

People who park at an angle usually cant park or dont care, sometimes depending on the lot, i can park so ill take up 2 spots just so no one has to try to pull next to me :rotflmao;Sweet

About 3 years ago, I was sitting behind a car turning left in a 4 lane road. I am patiently waiting my turn when all of a sudden....BANG! I go rolling ahead about 3 feet. I thought the clutch line blew and my truck stalled. I hit the key and she made the grinding noise and I realized THAT wasn't the problem...

I looked in the rear view, crumpled up Corolla sitting in a cloud of steam...

He rearended my 1996 F150 at 65 KM/H and never even hurt the truck. Back bumper had 2 creases in the chrome and a nick in the plastic...that was IT!

He wrote his car OFF...100% garbage. A month or so later I get a letter in the mail saying he was going to sue me for damages. Police report took care of that. I had the best witness EVER...a cop!

See, this is one of the reasons I hate passing through PA (darn mountains being the other) - them DOT idiots plop a stop sign right where the on-ramp meets the interstate, so ya'll are supposed to floor it and in three seconds reach 60-70mph. About anywhere else I drive there ain't no retarded stop signs like that, and you actually use the on-ramp to accelerate enough to match speed with the main traffic on the interstate and merge nice and easy.

Actually the accident was technically your mom's fault, maybe not to the police but most insurance agencies just automatically assume that the moment you rear-end someone it's your fault - I went through this years ago, lady suddenly changed lanes right about a foot in front of my bumper and immediately got on her brakes, I stood up on mine the moment she got in my lane but it was too late as her car apparently had better brakes than mine. According to the book it should have been my fault as it was me who hit her, however cops wrote it up as a no-fault as it was her who whipped in my lane with no warning and leaving me no time to react - no points on my driving record and oddly enough my insurance didn't go up either, but my insurance company did have to pay for her vehicle to be rebuilt (whereas I spent only a bit over $100 in parts and one day of my weekend and was good as new).

You gotta consider what some people do these days tho, them insurance scams - their own POS econobox has some major mechanical issues that can only be fixed with OEM parts (very common with newer imports) the cost of which together with labor add up to more than what the car is worth, one day while driving they see this big nice and shiny truck behind them and figure the owner must have good insurance on it, so good in fact that it would pay not only for the truck but also for any vehicle that happens to be involved in an accident with it - brake stand, here we go!!!

I was actually with a friend in her dad's F600 hot-shot (all chromed out and lit like a Christmas tree) when some jackwagon decided to pull that one, there was no one else but our two vehicles on the on-ramp and just before he gets on the interstate the SOB just stood on the brakes for no traffic-related reason whatsoever - well an F600 don't stop as fast a small car, my friend managed to slow down good but still hit him. Then proceeded to kill her lights (so he has no chance of seeing the plate), push him out the way, and get the heck outta there as fast as she could - she said she ain't getting punished for someone else's stupidity, and IMHO she was right - she's a pretty darn good driver, but there's only so much she can do when someone is deliberately playing hard against her...

There is a difference between someone pulling that scam and the driver behind not paying attention. If i am ready to pull out and i move to go but i see something that makes me stop suddenly, its the responsibility of the person behind me to be paying attention. He said they were in a rotary so im guessing that means traffic circle. A lot of those are amazingly confusing, especially if you havnt been in that particular one. Just based on that alone, i would guess the other driver was trying to figure out where to go and his mother was not paying attention and hit them and then didnt want to own up to the responsibility.

I agree PA does have some really bad setups. You have to remember though, we've got a lot of really old roads. After all, we had the first interstate (the PA turnpike - built on the back of stillborn railroad). This particular intersection where this occured, the direction me and the girl were going SHOULD have been made the side with NO stop sign, as almost all of the traffic goes this way. But NOOOooooo.. they put a stop sign here, and one a little bit before, so the poor people who live on the street (which originally was NOT the main road through town until about 3 years ago) have to listen to every vehicle stop and start twice, with the associated noise (it's up hill to boot). Where as if it had no stop signs, people could just drift on through with very little noise, and certainly much less exhaust. I've already documented my opinion of PennDOT elsewhere in my vehicle conversion threads, so I'm clenching me teeth and typing a period.

MA. has a lot of rotaries or traffic circles. I always found them easy to navigate. Simply, yield to the traffic in the circle. No traffic, keep going. :D
