Trick to removing wheels?

I have tried everything I can think of to get the 2 front wheels off of my truck (someone ran me off the road and I blew my front passenger side tire) I have soaked the lugs in penetrating fluid, impact wrench, tire iron, blah blah and NON of the 8 bolts are budging...

HELP.. Please?

2)new lugnuts are in order.

3/4 inch drive, breaker bar, long pipe!!! or a 3/4 impact with 80 gal of air at 175psi. I agree with Towcat and the new lug nuts, possibly studs!! Use torque wrench and some anti-sieze to prevent this from happening again as 1 ton hardware shouldn't be this tight. Good luck.

i would use the impact gun but not a long pipe. the chances of twisting off a lug bolt are reduced greatly with using the impact. might have to carefully heat the nut... and i'm talking red hot. throw the impact on and they should come right loose....

I've had to use my 1" gun before when I first got my truck, those suckers were flat on there.
You can usually get more oomph out of jumping on a breaker bar , then you will out of an average impact wrench, just do it carefully so they don't start calling you one *** Chad or some such rot ( an 8ft piece of pipe on a breaker bar does the trick too, be prepared for breakage)

I tried the big breaker bar on a Dodge truck in the junkyard once that had the lugnuts as stuck as you describe them, broke the breaker bar as a result. I'd second Ben's suggestion about the torch, get them suckers nice and hot and quickly impact them out. Then like Calvin recommended get new lug nuts.

I've dealt with lugs like that before. All I could do was twist 'till they broke off. There is something that you might try to make the stud break off a little easier. Drill into the center of the stud about 3/4 of the length of the lug with a 3/8 bit.

A friend of mine had a problem with lug bolts that were too tight on his (now my) car...he ended up twisting the head on the lug wrench 90 degrees I'll post a picture of it as soon as I can find it.

I think I would replace the studs along with the lug nuts...

i think i would also replace the lug bolts too because i'm sure they have way too much tension on them and therefore could be weakened. i need to do that the next time i pull hubs off because walmart broke one bolt off (mine were really tight also the first time) and i haven't thought of replacing them yet....

And the last time you had these wheels off was.... when? Sounds like Tyranasaurus instead of Taurus' were on the road then.

Mental note for everybody... if your state doesn't have annual inspections that require the wheels be removed, then consider rotating your tires now and then.

if all else fails, use the grinder to cut a notch through the lugs and nuts as close as you are comfortable to the wheel, you're gonna need to punch em out and replace em anyway....

That was intended for everyone who read the prior two messages regarding the use of heat to remove the lug nuts. Oh, and I think he was planning on removing the other front wheel as well?
