Really not where I was going.
I was trying to dodge "fly by night industry "
If you rock' why leave the forum?
There I said it.

I miss Russ.R.I.P.

Mel was a standup guy.

I wish we had a dozen Justins.

The old man in city of industry rocked, rip.
HONEST
PLEASE
only post rock solid recommendations for the guys behind us....
Oooohlook

Hope this post makes it past the snowflake filter....

As far as I know, he hasn’t “left” the forum. That being said, he has not been on in a while. But he has been busy with the business.

Just like when Mel took over Conestoga, he did not get on here much because the business took a most of his time. Justin is the same way, he does not post much online, but we all know R&D is still going

CDD is still in business, and his pumps might be the best we can get. He has the factory equipment to test the pumps when he's done, and is doing things like putting ceramic lining in the advance cylinder.

I'm sorry to hear about Typ4. Did he pass on the secret recipe for his cams to anyone?

"CDD?" ... I've been somewhat out of the loop since Mel did the 1'st ever "Baby Moose" build on my OE 1988 7.3 idi pump back in maybe 2011'ish. After I did the install, I even went to his house for him to time it. I 'believe' he's in S.C. still doing his thing????

I sent 2 oil coolers and 2 IPs to CCD for cores towards a standard IP rebuild. Joe called me the same day the received the cores just to confirm what I wanted (store credit vs. paypal) He was very courteous and I feel like things are going to work out well. Still about 7 weeks out before I'll be getting my rebuild (stock) IP. I have another thread going about my project and I'll update that with my experience once I get this rebuild engine fired up for the first time!

Classic Diesel Design.

Wes is a great guy, just south of me near San Antonio. He’s very busy but I believe he still offers small discounts for local pickup of orders. But fair warning, he can be hard to get a hold of, so don’t get bent if he doesn’t return an email or phone call within a few days.

wait, so... you think well established businesses are "fly by night" because their owners dont regularly post on your forum?

It is a weird take. It does have a weird feel to it though, when an individual uses an internet forum to get established as a buisiness, and then disappears.

When I say uses, I dont mean anybody intentionally used a platform to get there buisiness going, and then left after it was succesfull. But I dont see a buisiness centered on parts for a very small percentage of vehicles going anywhere without the support/advertising of an internet forum.

I'll second CDD. They seem more active on the Facebook group but I dont know who is actually responding on the other end, if its him or a secretary or something. I know he had moved his shop to a new location and it was taking a long time to get everything setup but I thought that was early last year? Either way, everything I have bought from them has been really good quality and arrived fairly quickly.
