I am installing some gages in my 94 superduty. Pyrometer, Oil Pressure, Boost, maybe a couple others. I was wondering about a good place to pull switched power. I ran a 16ga wire (Green wire with Red heatshrink on the end) to a fuse block under the dash to provide what I believe is switched power at the GP relay? Can anyone confirm this post with the large Red/green stripe wire is switched power from the ignition switch?

Only reason im asking is that I went to turn the truck on this AM to see if the gauges were working and they didnt seem to receive any power.

Now, the Pyrometer gage, as far as I can tell, the only power it has is for the light bulb. The Oil pressure gage however, has a red wire for switched power, a yellow wire for constant power, and an orange wire for a dimmer function, and a ground. I had looked up the purpose of the constant power wire and supposedly it is to save the color setting for the gage. I assumed I wouldnt need that wire plugged in for the gage to work but maybe that isnt the case.

Damn, that would have been slick. I didnt even bother to check the factory fuse panel.

I contacted glowshift and the issue was that I hadnt wired the yellow constant 12v wire in. In their description that wire says that its for keeping the memory of the gauge color when the truck is off but its actually required for any illumination. I ended up splicing it onto the 12v switched power wire and it works fine.

Now my concern is that the oil pressure gauge just pegs to 100psi at all times which I am pretty sure is not correct.

Did you replace the factory oil sender for the one your gauge requires?

What does the gauge read if you disconnect it from the sender key on? Or what does it read with key on engine off? Just trying to get an idea if the gauge responds.

As long as the power harness is connected and the key in the ON position (providing switched power to gauge) it illuminates and pegs to 100psi.

I reached out to glowshift and they said it is likely something wrong with the signal from the sensor as the gauge is designed to peg to 100psi if there is an issue with the signal. They gave me a few tips to try like reseating the silicon seal on the back of the connector as that is a common issue with the sensor plug.

They were surprisingly responsive and helpful actually.
