I came across this:

California, other states, may soon ban motorhome sales

“If nothing changes, motorhomes will not be able to be sold and registered in California beginning in 2025. The exact date is still to be determined.”

Needless to say: I feel much angst as I read of rich folks still flying private jets, while we are being denied a pittance. We could run on jet fuel as well...why is it acceptable to burn the fuel in a Jet, not a RV?

I think it'll flop. Some of these newer rv's are worth over $200,000, and if rich nuts aren't buying them and going to the parks in those states, that's lost revenue both on sales tax and park fees. I think it'll catch up with them. Just California doing California things again.

I wouldn’t count on Trump to disband CARB or the EPA… after all, there is still money to be made there. But if anyone would lessen those agency’s power, he probably would. Just my speculation.

As I've heard it said before, don't stand in the way of Democrats and their taxes.
Some of those in the Colorado state government want to go that way, but they get a large income from tourism every year. They know that it would shoot them in the foot. They've made compromises where they're not as strict as all of that, but they're stricter than a lot of other states. Slightly different, but still within Colorado and tourist money. To ride a non-plated OHV there you have to buy an annual permit for each one that you ride. In order to buy one over the counter, you need to have a "True ID" on your driver's license. So you need a federal endorsement to buy a state permit? The odd thing is that I can buy them online straight from the State and not have to provide that kind of info so I don't need a True ID. Naturally, I don't have one. When they tell me that I should have one to "make things easier for me" and then want to charge me for it, I tell them where they can stick that endorsement. And that's right here in Kansas. It's still optional here.

What a joke... hopefully this test balloon legislation gets shot down all along the west coast and other states. To go after the RV's like they are the thing killing the planet is ludicrous. And that's only if you swallow the hoax that CO2 is killing the planet...

Pretending that has any merit whatsoever, the US produces about 14% global CO2. Every new diesel produced meets the newest standards of emissions, releasing a TINY fraction of greenhouse gasses that our diesels make. So even if suddenly the USA's emissions were cut to zero, we would "help" the global greenhouse equation by a whopping 14%. Why can't lawmakers do math???
What percent of all vehicle miles is RV's? And what percent of that is CALI RV's??? It's a staggeringly low number.

I love the great outdoors and want nature to be around for our great-great-great grandchildren. Banning new RV's won't help that one tiny bit.

My guess is that if they did, they wouldn't be able to enact any new laws. Then they couldn't claim to be helping us poor, helpless citizens. I have to stop there because I have a MUCH higher level of respect for engineers than I do politicians. Not all, but in general.

FOR REAL. Actually I wouldn't ban them, as I'm all for small government, but rather let the people that think they are saving the planet ACT LIKE IT. But we see all the anti-emission governors/politicians/billionaires use them constantly, in direct hypocrisy to the public image they convey. So dumb.

It's not ALL of the large rv's. It's a couple of the dedicated large chassis diesel motorhome suppliers that are going to get banned. That is all they do, make large diesel chassis and they do not make any electric chassis vehicles. Why? Because it's pretty much impossible to make a large rv or truck electric that is of any use.

It's not fair, but Ford and a couple of others are going to still be allowed to sell their chassis to rv companies and they will be allowed to be sold in Ca. Why? Because they make electric vehicles for other uses and have enough green "points" to be allowed to keep selling the large rv chassis.

Nah, it's not. Smog in cities used to be horrific, just due to unfiltered exhaust. Unless you lived in a major city back then, you have no idea. My mom recalls how bad Sacramento smog used to be in the 60s-Early 80s. California emissions for gasoline vehicles went into effect in 1975, but a ton of exempt vehicles were still on the road in 1984 (when she moved away) pumping out tons of smog.

There were smog alerts, warning people not to go outside too much, if possible, on days when it was especially bad.

Diesel emissions regulations didn't go into effect until 1997, because they kept kicking the can down the road, to appease the trucking industry.
