Is there a place where repair instructions can be posted or found?

After being on the site for some time I have realized being able to refer someone to a document about common issues and common fixes with IDI's such as

Starting issues - Electrical
Starting issues - Fuel
VRV testing and adjusting
IP timing
How to use a Kent Moore or Tac&Time timing tool
How to test the glow plug system
Common coolant leaks or over heating heating issues
How to hook up a tranny cooler
ETC, ETC, ETC

I think it would be very helpful and bennificial to the Oilburners.net community. VS having to retype over and over the same instructions. (Or worse leaving out a key part/instructions on accident.) Often only some of the causes of a symptom are discussed in a thread, leaving that member with only part of what they needed to really know to fix the issue at first glance. Often best practices do not get discussed in all threads. (Like only use Motorcraft thermostats, or SCI coolants.) Some members have to wait for days for the right reply to get posted. There is so much experience amongst this community I feel it is a good time to create some diagnose and repair documents on common issues to help members fix their vehicles.

I looked around but I did not see a place for that. I would be willing to prepare some of these documents, run a thread to get input on what can be added, revise, then post so we can have a collective and comprehensive document on what to do in common incidents.

I'd imagine the tech articles at the top of each section would be a good spot for these tips.

Just saw that today when I was in the IDI section. (Does not show up when at the home page.)

Lots of threads in there so hopefully the search engine is good.

Is there a way to add say a PDF or Word doc. (VS say a pic.)

I will work on some documents and ping you when ready.

Thank you!

I have had one helluva saga addressing glow plug issues in my 1994 7.3L IDI E350 van. This has been going on for over a year now. And I have uncovered the damnedest unlikely and destructive malfunctions. So far, it's taken three sorties to get to the bottom of my woe.

I'd like to write a saga of my experience, what led me to do what I did, and led me to one cow pie after another.

But it's long and I do not want to spend a lot of time preparing unwanted posts.

Should I write it, and where should I put such a thing?

I note several people have opened glow plug issues I think their problems and mine are related, and mine are coming from very unusual places.

Go ahead and write it up in a new post. Depending on what it has, it may end up in the tech articles.

Also, yes, in the Tech Article section a sub-area of the IDI section
