My 89 f250 IDI trying to bring to life my 96 F350 PSD 4x4 box truck, Box truck is for sale. Friday some dude came too look at it on a 2019 BMW Paris to Dakar looking enduro, he wants to have it converted to a offroad camper he said the name like i knew it landrover or something... anyway I was actually fixing the GF water pump and in a bind for time.. so after showing him the truck and kinda feelin him out I gave him the keys he gave me his bike keys and off he went about 30 mins latter he called said it was stuck in a ditch, and wouldnt crank! me slapping my head like What? SO I drive over and sure enough hes mired and truck wont crank, I threw in the spare CPS and it started but running like crap, almost like fuel starvation issue, Drove it back home he gave me 50 bucks feeling like the tool he was and roared off on his BMW. waiting on a Ford IPC, dropped the tank thinking the fuel screen might be clogged already had screen delete and extended pickup returns. But the IDI comes thru again and again ...

Very nice!

'89 IDI!!! I'm loving mine. I think I might has to work on the tranny, though. It slips when I first start it up. Once it warms up it runs fine. Have you ever experienced this?

I like the green color. I would like get a 4x4, but the dually works for me here in Texas.

BTW, Do you the difference between a porcupine and a BMW? One has the ****** on the outside.

My 89 IDI is a ZF5. Try some lucas stop slip in it. As far as the green I had a gallon of Rustoleum huntergreen painted my 71 W200 with it and I really liked it so did a bunch of other folks, the F250 begged to be painted with a roller too that paint is incredibly durable ( i cut it a bit with thinner) especially in the new scorching sun no fade in like 2years. Cheap, so good for me. Now if i can just get this PSD rolling again.

Overlander...Expedition Vehicle.
THAT WAS IT! Hell i did that for 6months when i got back from Afghanistan and my ex had locked me out and moved her BF /boss in. Best thing ever happened too me. I was living in a ranger at the time but it was better then sleeping out in the rocks out of the wire.

Been here for a couple months now so I thought I’d share my idi I picked up at the beginning of August that brought me here to Oilburners.

It’s a 1989 f250hd custom w/ a NA 7.3 idi, ZF5 5 speed manual, 4.10 diffs and is a 4x4. 180,000 miles on engine and chassis. Has a classic Warn model 8274 winch from 1984 on a custom heavy duty steel front bumper. Bearcat 880 cb radio and dual flanking firestick antennas. 32in tires.

Work/upgrades I have done since buying it in august are new felpro valve cover gaskets, rebuilt factory IP done here in AK by Advanced Diesel Anchorage, new zd9 gp’s all around, 3g 130 amp alternator swap, and other odds and ends like new set of interstate mtp-65hd batteries, coolant flush, new fleet charge sca precharged coolant, rad hoses, thermostat, block heater, new crankcase rotella t6 5w-40 oil and quart of marvel mystery, psd oil filter, fuel feed olives, new wix diesel filter, wiper motor, and turn signal switch.

Current plans for this truck are to be my work truck. I do a lot of boat outboard maintenance and repair so I haul a lot of 20-35ft boats. Also hoping to put a bed camper on it next summer and take it down the Alcan to the states visiting friends and family, living on the road.
