Just wondering for those of you who've done it: the complete hydro-boost from the brake pedal all the way to the reservoir pulled off of a complete existing F Super Duty. Again, just a ballpark price from somebody who's done it and seen all the unforseen stuff come up along the way.

I am really looking hard for the parts to do my dually, but I know there are far more folks who've done hydroboost on IDI OBS trucks, hence I'm posting it here.

Thanks

I pulled a Hydroboost out of a Ford junkyard rig (box truck, IIRC). Bought a new PS pump and hoses. Was a bolt in, and was only charged the JY price for a "brake booster" and whatever the two high pressure hoses, pump and power steering pulley puller cost. This was like 10 years ago, so no clue what pricing was then or would be now. Still one of the best upgrades to these trucks.

What era SDuty were you looking at? I was going to save a rebuildable unit out of one of our more modern work trucks, but quick search and there were too many differences that would turn it into another "project", so into the scrap bin it went.

What i did is buy a Cardone rebuild booster off ebay then had to buy a "repair kit" that is also available on eBay since the rebuilds do not come with the output shaft and spring, I found the 2 port power steering pump off of rockauto, and the hoses off rockauto. For the brake pedal, I just modified my original one to work with the hydroboost. All in it cost me in the neighborhood of $375 (this will vary based on current costs of parts)

i buy core hydroboost units from members when they come up for 100-150
then 260, i think for a remanned unit.
70 for a powersteering pump.
40 for 2 new pressure hoses and return lines
i relocate the pin on the pedal for myself

My install was limited to the booster itself (motorcraft; included pushrod). Modified the existing F350 pedal. '95 F450 pressure lines. Did not buy or swap the PS reservoir (tee'd the return lines together). Did not change the MC (notched the holes).

I checked my rockauto account history, but the actual prices paid are not shown.
