this truck is my Dad’s 1990 F350 IDI. My kids lovingly call her “Ole’ Moldy”.
It’s fitting enough. I’m trying to slow down the rust. The dump insert is my brimar I store since my IDI died a few years ago.

You gonna do the whole truck, or just sections? Going with top coat or leave primered?

Watching intently. My ol girl will be getting a similar treatment before long.

Odd seeing that flat smooth roof. My crew cab is ribbed and therefore will be all kinds of fun to prep.

From what I've seen, the crew cabs were all ribbed on top of the roof while the Ex. cabs were flat. Those probably should have ribbed too. I've heard mine flex in a very high side wind. Not often, but often enough. I can also say that they will do the same thing when you have a thick layer of ice on top while driving down the highway and it finally melts enough to come off. That was scary because it could have killed someone if it had hit their car. It was still in one roof-sized sheet when it hit the highway.

Wow yeah I've seen ice sliding off semi's and always thought boy someone could get hurt pretty bad by that.

I kinda figured the crew's were ribbed because of the size and needing rigidity. Just... Never really thought about it so it looked odd seeing a smooth one!

Mine doesn't have that little "Diesel" logo below the headlight. I'd kinda like to have 3 of those. I wonder if they are available anywhere.

I found an aftermarket one on eBay a while ago. Been sitting in the glovebox for a couple of years waiting for me to repaint that trim piece it mounts on. I think it was only like $5-10.

This is a high build primer. Trying to smooth it out some before paint.
