Slowly making progress. Got the axle in and bolted up. Still a few things to finish on it, track bar, shocks... But still enough progress to make me happy.

I will brag that I'm a lucky man. She's very good to me!

I stumbled across the name and decided it just fit lol. Apparently it literally means nonsense which fits like a glove!

I've wanted one of these for a while and this one fell into my lap. If I get technical I'm only in it for a couple hundred maybe so far. $60 or so for control arms, bought a set of plugs for it and a 24' piece of 2x4 tube for the rocker panels. I have metal here for the floors and free parts from a buddy. Trying to keep it cheap as I can.

The 4.0L is actually a pretty good engine. A common problem is the exhaust manifold cracking. It has the effect of messing up up the O2 sensor and causing it to run like crap. An exhaust header is a nice upgrade. :sly

I knew about the exhaust manifold but not the crank sensor. Thanks for the heads up!

Got the new wheels on it. They hold air, the old ones don't lol. New to me tires in the works from a buddy of mine.

Old wheels...

To each his own. I MUCH prefer the 16" steelies to those 17" aluminum ones.

Still has air in the cooling system but looks like the alt is charging and all the gauges seem to work except maybe oil pressure...

Drove it outside finally! A long way from done though!

Purrs like a kitten. Has an occasional stumble but its got old gas and needs a tune-up. Has a pretty noticable exhaust leak lol.

sounds like a healthy 4.0, i thought the overall engine design gave them a slight stumble at idle if you listen close. nothing wrong with the engine, that is just how they run.

Thanks. I've never had one so I didn't know. Certainly wasn't bad enough to cause me concern.

nothing scientifical about it lol i just remember driving a friends old square headlight Jeep with a 4.0 back when it was new. yeah i am dating myself a bit but i noticed it seemed to stumble a bit. not much but you could notice. i was sort of sensitive to it because i was having trouble getting my CJ-7 with a 360 V-8 to idle smooth.

he explained it had been in the shop for the issue and it was explained to him they do that. it is just sort of inherent with the design. he drove it for years with no issue.

Making progress. Got the hood swapped out. Now my suspicion is confirmed on exactly what happened during the crash. The whole front end twisted. The bottom didn't move much but the top pushed towards the drivers side. I'll have to figure out how to straighten this out but I have a few ideas.

Looks a lot better how did you got the twist out
One of these:

https://www.harborfreight.com/4-ton-heavy-duty-portable-hydraulic-equipment-kit-44899.html

Against the ac compressor with a piece of steel on the fender to spread the load for the passenger side. Drivers side was basically the same process but against the bottom of the body on the drivers side. I hopped on the bumper until it was close enough lol!
