just made it home. 10 hours straight, didn't stop for fuel or food once, much to my dismay as diesel is more expensive here at home, definitely need to re-gear, install my turbo and inter cooler, then i'll be set. a huge thank you to nick and tina for hosting the rally, and to mel for un-retarding my truck:D . we all had a great time, thanks again
i'll post more tomorrow,
chris

Fowlers made it home without much drama, yesterday. Thanks for all who helped with the radiator replacement--including helping me find one, and even picking it up after hours from the Warehouse, to running me in to Sommerset to get some additional small parts, to actually installing the radiator and fan while I was on the parts run.
If you have to break down, THIS is the group to be with when it happens!

( The green truck pictured above is mine).

Hey Michael, How were your temps on the way home?

Temps were wonderful! Stayed firmly in the "normal" zone except for one long grade on I 83 below York. PA where it approached --but did not cross over- the end line of the normal zone.
I lost the shroud on one of the hills on the turnpike----Lost the metal support clip at the bottom of the shroud, and replaced it with a zip tie. When things got fully warmed up under the hood, the shroud sagged, and kinda "interefered" with the steel fan.
Steel fan 1
Plastic Shroud 0
While driving at speed the temps actually went down w/o the shroud. The did climb a little when we slowed down, but still no problems.

I think I need to pull the engine to investigate the source of air in my oil pressure system. I have observed bubbles in the copper line to the after-market gauge. I cannot think of where air might enter into a pressurized oil system, so I think the air must be coming in at, or near the pickup. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Darrin--I still desire your opinion for alternate vehicles--PM me, please.

Glad all were able to attend and have a good time.
Once a year for a few short days is never enough.
only 360 days until the next one
what kind of things will next years hosts do??

Thanks to all of those that helped me and Tina with the scheduling, the cooking, and the extra food for the dinners.
Still at camp cause I dont wanna go home yet

Well, We had a blast at the Rally! A big thanks to Nick and Tina. It was great to see new and old faces.

I've started an offical 2009 Rally thread here and on the BOOB site and added a link in my sig for it. We would love to host unless there are any objections. Can't wait to see you all again.

IF YOU'VE NEVER BEEN TO A RALLY............GO TO ONE!!!!! IT IS A GREAT TIME.

Heath
