My sender is between last 2 cyl on drivers side. My idle temp seems higher than the rest of ya's. 350* is a warm engine. When I first start it and let it sit and idle it will stay around 250*. After driving for a while I don't think it has ever dropped below 300*.
Dana 60 is the best there is as long as everything is tight and aligned. One other simple thing alot of people miss is bad tires. Do an online seach for "Dana 60 death wobble. "
You should have the non-turbo clutch and flywheel. The 94 factory idi turbo engines used a different flywheel. I would switch to a single mass flywheel.
Get a Pyrometer and watch egts. Just to be safe. But I think you have classic symptoms of bad fan clutch. You most definately want a Motorcraft thermostat. Pricey but worth it.
Be careful looking underneath with it running. Mine was doing the same thing. I drove it for about a month like that. One day I pushed in the clutch and it sounded really bad!! I shut it off and looked underneath and the pressure plate was coming apart and sent pieces through the inspection...
I replaced the switch on my 84. It was easy. I went to the salvage yard and grabbed 2 of them. I took them up to the counter and the guy said "Take em". No charge!!!! ;Sweet
I have the same meter. I have used the 6.2 probe in the 6.9 and it worked. It sounds to me like the magnetic pick up is not working. Make sure the hole on the timing tab is cleaned and the line on the balancer.:dunno

So the wires between the controller and the gp's would change glow time. I have changed the wires feeding power to the controller but not the wires to the gp's themselves. I will check them next.
