    Superchared diesel inside here...

WOW !!! I'v been off the grid for a day or two, and it looks like you are moving right along. Did you ever come across a timing meter? Or just setting by ear for now? I have developed a low end miss, cleans out when the rpm's climb. Stop by sometime man, would like to chat with ya...

Is my trailer hitch strong enough?

Awesome deal!!! I think that the way I had it to start with would have been fine but I just feel better having the second square tube. It just seemed like alot of weight causing the twist effect when I use the WD hitch. I lucked out since I built it to fit my 95 2wd with a standard bumper...

Is my trailer hitch strong enough?

Here is a couple shots of mine. I just didn't like the looks of what I could find available for my truck. The sides are 3/8th bent plate, the cross members are 3" square, and the plates around the tube in the chain area are 1/4". I ask around on several welding forums and received many...

Pryo is in, now I can use the pedal on the right

I have a terrible time with the search feature and had a hard time getting a good opinion on brand, but I ended up with a glowshift.

I hope I didnt screw up. Give me some good words!

Up until a few weeks ago I drove the same rig but in an 04. Loaded with tools mine weighs in at 17100 lbs. It runs me around town better then average in my opinion. It had 90ish k on it when we got it, now it has around 140. Its has its share of troubles. The front end had to be...

    1990 F 350 gear rattle

This may or may not help ya out, I needed a longer rod between the slave and the fork. I have never messed with the zf so I don't know about them, but the push rod turned out pretty slick, so here it is if your looking for ideas. Here is the thread...

Pryo is in, now I can use the pedal on the right

Well, ya both got one on me then,no turbo here Yet!!! I'm not quite to the point of standing on the corner with my hand out but close. So the pump I put on was off another IDI and is of unknown age. What I do know is that it brought the truck to life compared to the old pump. I pull 99% of...

Pryo is in, now I can use the pedal on the right

I got my pryo last thur, so today when the rain just wouldn't quit, I tackled the installation. Not to bad, drilled and cut threads just ahead of 8. Ran the wires and stuck the pryo in place of the oil pressure gauge that I am not using yet. For all the guys that do not have a way to see what...

    Break issues (rear)

I can't imagine it being any worse then any other brake job on a 3/4 or 1 ton. I did have to pull the axle on my gasser so that I could get the drum and hub into the press to separate them.Suckers were stuck good. Mine has 3 inch, and was a breeze. LOL I did take a picture before I tore it...

New to me IP that I need to time.

I have power now but I have smoke too. OK....I got all the leaking lines taken care of. It starts easy, and idles nice, maybe a tad fast. Its incredible how much more power it has now, but after half throttle it gets pretty smokey, bad enough the cars behind me back off. I didn't want to...

    Finishing touch on ZF-5 swap!!

I like the 8 ball. Hey if it does by chance pop off, I have some A7 epoxy. They tell me it has a 4000 lb pull out, with a safety factor of 4 to 1. I will be watching on the gauges, mine are temporary right now in a 3 pack in front of the ashtray.

Bad News!!! I just called the place I go to and now they are closed on sundays. There is a place just south and 1/2 block west of I 70 and Noland Rd. I can't remember the name to save my life. I am heading out for the day but I will try and update from my phone if I pass by or remember the...

New to me IP that I need to time.

Cool deal walker, I have to work again to get this project finished by Monday. I will do my best to catch the phone tho. Tonight I adjusted the plunger on the fast idle to the point where it almost touched the linkage. This fixed the problem of it wanting to die on return to idle...

New to me IP that I need to time.

Cool deal, and thank you. I just posted in claytons thread about timing. Had a brain moment and I am gonna check to see if the cold advance is up against the linkage to prevent it from returning to far. After I stop the small leak I have.

    How does my timing sound?

I'm in the same boat with setting my timing. Is your cold advance holding the linkage, or is it just really close? Mine is dying on return to idle......brain moment for me.....maybe I need to adj mine to where it will touch at idle so that it does not snap back to far. May I ask where...

Kansas City Metro area, Independence Mo to be exact. I remember reading a post where a member would ship and rent us a timing set, I think. Just can't remember who it was.

X2 I'm on the look out as well, I am currently sporting a 4' chunk of 6" channel iron for a front. It got me passed inspection so it works for now.

New to me IP that I need to time.

Thank You.....I have talked to a couple different places and they all seem to have a lost look on there face when I ask what method they use to time with. That scares me. It starts fantastic, but I did notice a small leak on one of the lines coming off the back of the pump that I didnt see...

New to me IP that I need to time.

I got an IP with a date of 98 I think. When it came off, it had no leaks and still had fuel in all lines. I went ahead and swapped it out since I felt I was really lacking power. The swap went fine, and it started on the third crank. I know the idex marks are very general, but at this...

Clutch troubles, do I need shims?

Thank You Russ and Jred, I really didnt care for the idea of a shim behind the flywheel but oriely showed the shim and acted like they sell plenty of them for other makes and models. I personally had never used one. I really didn't care for the plastic cap that came with the new slave...
