I think it's safe but not advanced quite enough. I should be getting a Ferret within the next few weeks. Tell me what you think.

I'm in the same boat with setting my timing.
Is your cold advance holding the linkage, or is it just really close?
Mine is dying on return to idle......brain moment for me.....maybe I need to adj mine to where it will touch at idle so that it does not snap back to far.
May I ask where and how much you are getting a Ferret for?
I can't get anything till the end of the year but I might be able to split the price and share it with fellow member seawalkersee.

I think you mean the fast idle plunger, Yeah I have it set really close. I'm not terribly worried about my timing I think It'll be fine for now. The cheapest place I have found for a ferret is here. http://www.tooldiscounter.com/ItemDisplay.cfm?lookup=FERV765-01 And of course you'll need a digital timing light that shows rpm and advance.
sounds a little too much advanced to me.
