Ok so I bought a 87 6.9 for 300 bucks after the crank broke in my 7.3. It was reman from Ford at one time. I cleaned it up, put my stuff on it....injectors and pump. Now that it's done and installed, I'm not getting any fuel out of pump. I can't get a break here lately. I swapped to a facet fuel...
Well been a while...have to get use to the new look on the forum... Well Sunday wife was driving the ole IDI from church when it started vibrating bad and then a loud clanking sound. So I thought great, just swapped it from a C6 to a 5pd and thought the clutch came apart. I tore it...
Hello folks....been a while so.....I just converted my truck from a C6 to a bolt action. I can not get the thing to crank, turn the key, all lights come on and the glowplug relay does its thing and.......nothing . I still have the C6 harness for the tranny and thought that may be my problem...
A big thanks to mel.....I know I'm behind on this stuff but I just installed his bb code injectors I bought last year and WOW! I think I picked up 50 more hp LOL.... This thing actually moves great and I haven't even timed it yet. My truck is a 89 and 7 out of 8 were grey.....
Ok knuckle heads....what holds the kickdown rod on the shaft? I know a e-clip but what else? There's too much space for just a e-clip I'm thinking some kind of grommet and where can I get one or some at. Mine when I bought it had some wire rapped around it...:dunno...
These don't look factory to me. I have checked the connector at the passenger side kick panel and no power. Where does the wires go from there? To the fuse box? Where does it ground to?
Has anybody used a drain plug kit on there pan? I got one from Napa that uses nylon washers to seal it and was wondering if they leak? I was hoping to install it when I put my shift kit in my C6.
Ok after reading several threads on which kit is the best...I just went on evilbay and bought a superior C6 shift kit for 17 bucks and free shipping. I thought that was a good deal...
A question I have is I've heard about people using type f fluid in these transmissions also....would you do...
Ok so we have members renting timing meters so how about the freeze plug tool? I have a friend that's giving me a sweet deal on a low mileage 7.3 it's just got a plug leaking and need to replace it....
So I come home and search wires like mad from the alternator to the voltage regulator and to the solenoid. Well turns out that something shorted out and melted a wire into....the big thick wire going to the solenoid.....
When I replace my lifters and put everything back together how much torque do I need for the rocker arm bolts? Second...my truck has some cheap lick and stick chrome on the bottom of the truck. What do I use after I peel it off to get rid of the sticky stuff it leaves behind?
The sealed...
Well after pulling the valve covers and having fun with the passenger side...:D I found my problem. The first rocker arm is loose and so is the push rod so it looks like the lifter is dead...what do yall think...no it didn't have soot on the back of the valve covers. It chuffed in the intake...
new brass/copper radiator....
Ok....has anybody heard of autopal? A company in Czech Republic. Apparently they make brass radiators just like the factory ones in our truck. My new truck has one in it.
