Ok after reading several threads on which kit is the best...I just went on evilbay and bought a superior C6 shift kit for 17 bucks and free shipping. I thought that was a good deal...

A question I have is I've heard about people using type f fluid in these transmissions also....would you do it with a shift kit? They use that fluid for a good shift....

Using 'Type F' is an old trick, not sure I'd do it nowadays as synthetic is far superior.

dex merc is fine, type f is getting hard to find as most of the older trans have been rebuilt with the frictions to use dex. I had a bullitin about this from the supply house a few years ago.
And you wouldnt notice the difference anyway.
