Got the car back together with new gaskets. THe rear cylinder on the passenger side had a >1/8" void in the firing ring. Got new Felpro stuff on there now.
Now I get a CEL. I get a P1151 code. Fuel trim...pressure high or low, Dirty or defective MAF, Vacuum leak, or leaking fuel...
I just got my hands on a nice clean Cougar, but it is blowing bubbles in the radiator and steam out the tailpipe. I read a lot about the 3.8 head gasket problems but figured I'd see what you all had to say and if you had any tips to make the repair easier. 134k miles, runs good otherwise.
I had a good time, sorry I couldn't stay longer. Nice to see some of the old crew along with some new faces. What a nice surprise to see Jim Madden. And on the way home I met OLDBULL8, it was a pleasure to visit with Bill and that Oreo milkshake was sure good. Thanks for the tractor parts...
If I can make it on Dyno Day I would like to run my V10. It's stock and approaching 190k but I'm still curious. Still not sure about when I'll make it.
13 ft lbs for the plugs. I bought an inch lb torque wrench since my big torque wrench doesn't go that low. 13 x 12 = 156 inch lbs.
most of the time the plug blowouts are due to overtorquing them and stripping the threads. true, there should be more threads in the head, but it's usually not an...
Nice van man. The Triton motors aren't bad, just don't over torque the spark plugs and you'll be fine. 70k is still a baby. I'm a little jealous ;Sweet
Ahh yes, I did not have a Turbo to deal with, just an AC box. I did however replace my heads with ones I had rebuilt. I had an issue with 2 different heights on the bolt holes on each of the heads. The easiest way to explain is with pics.
passenger side
driver side. as you can see some of the...
Not to argue, just an FYI, when I installed ARP studs on my '86, I did it with the engine in the truck. I did not have any issues. I know it's not the answer to your question. Have fun.
We tent camped across the USA and back for our honeymoon (2 bear encounters and some nights in a motel towards the end ;)). We swam in our tent for the first several rallies. Then I got older. Yep we like our RV now. But I like your style.:sly:D
I'm going to try to make an appearance on this one. There are some old friends, both human and metal, that I'd like to see. I'll be sans diesel though, my 10 angry squirrels will have to do.
I need the passenger side Yoke and axle shaft assembly that will fit a '95 F250 PSD. this is the shaft that exits the pumpkin and drives the right front wheel. a buddy has broken the yoke and outer shaft. anybody?
Sorry about your truck problems, Heath. I never guessed you would have anything but success with that truck.
I understand the lure of newer trucks but the 6.4 scares me...any PSD later than a 7.3 spooks me. Too rich for my blood when they break. My V10 is thirsty but reliable and cheap to keep...
