PIN IT TO WIN IT!!!
Any of yall ever break your the tail housing on your ZF-5? Mine has broken the bolt holes at the back twice and I cannot figure out why, the rubber mount on the cross member seems fine and my motor mounts seem to be ok as well. Since I'm in college I used some bolts and big ass washers to "get by" with. But since my wreck I'm puttin a good bit of money into it and figure this should get fixed while it's down anyways. I have the pieces to make it mount to a transfer case and think I might replace the tail housing with the replacement parts and slap a transfer case on it as I will eventually convert it to 4wd anyways.
Any opinions are welcome, but I wanna know a few things...
1. What could cause it to break?
2. What could be done to prevent that?
3. I know someone on here has pulled one apart, how hard you say it is?
4. Anybody pulled one of these apart and converted it to a 4wd model?
5. If you have how hard was it?
I'm not a professional mechanic but feel that I have adequate experience at being able to take things apart and make them go back together and work again.
