At $3K, he'd have to take another $2k off asking to be in the ballpark, ESPECIALLY since it's not even 4WD (terrible resale).

I started off with a filter setup similar to what you're proposing but after seeing how much grease the centrifuge pulled out of my supposedly 2 micron oil, I couldn't in good conscience recommend anything but a centrifuge. PA Biodiesel has some good centrifuge prices and if you source a pump motor, you won't be too much above the price of filters, especially since you'll have to replace the filters and never have to replace the centrifuge.

Do you already have oil? If so, I would (and you might find others near you) be wiling to trade you W83 for your dirty oil until you definitively know if this is something you want to do. I'll be in Mich this weekend for the Dream Cruise, otherwise I'm in the Buffalo, NY area (about 280 miles from Detroit).

As for the truck, here's some MI Craigslist listings for comparison:

Thank you for the kind offer. I do have access to about 25 gallons to get started with. Also I'd want to get familiar with the truck on diesel before I start experimenting with fuels. But maybe in the future, I regularly drive to St. Catherines Ontario/Niagara Falls area.

The truck I am looking at has only 81,000 miles. But I do agree the price needs to come down considerably. Plus I'd want to give it a thorough once-over to make sure that isn't 181,000 miles.

That truck looks really good.

When the temps get down below 20 degrees and colder,
I try run with more diesel than wmo.
I'd rather spend a little more money on fuel, then be on the side of the road with problems.(when it's cold)

Brad,
What kind of mix are you running?
