Ok on my 89 i have been having problems with the wipers, they wipe to slow and sometimes stop all together and act like the switch dont work so i changed the switch with another one i had lying around, it still didnt fix it, so i bought a wiper motor today for 57 dollars:puke: but after noticing something i kinda dont think its the motor cause when the wipers stop working then is i try to use the windsheild washers it doesnt work either, i hope i can take the motore back cause its high, but whats going on with my truck? Im leaving monday on a 200 mile trip and wont be heading back home till friday(week in gaitlinburg on vacation) and this truck has to be dependable! so i need wipers working, please help me out

fuse and wiring condition could cause that too:puke:. New motor and switch, only thing left is in between. I'd check the linkage thing that moves with the motor too and maybe oil it but if the squirter aint working then thats probably not it

While you've got the motor I would run your wipers until it quits on ya, then unplug your wiper motor on the truck and plug it into the new motor (without installing it). If the new motor works flawlessly then you've found your problem.

I had a bad motor that caused no intermittent wipers, wipers that wouldn't park, and eventually slow or "work when they want to" wipers. I can't remember where the cutoff is, but I think 89 is the same setup as my 94. Beyond that, RainX is your friend if you don't figure it out in time.

dyoung14 when you installed the new motor did it run OK under load? I have a brand new motor on mine but they're sluggish, my old '84 had an old motor and was much faster. Not hijacking here, just watching thread with interest.

I went ahead and put the new motor in and it still messed up, so i got to messing with it, and the wires were loose were they plug to the switch but i decided it would be good to have a new motor, and my new one runs twice as fast as my old one did
