Yeah, it's the exhaust back pressure valve.
No waste gate to be found. Lol
I would unhook it, and tie it open.

Hes an old timer used to working on dozers and stuff. That sounds like a good idea on the disconnect.

I gutted mine, but it's a little more involved.
Buy a non-ebpv pedestal to have on standby for when you pull the turbo.

i forgot about this thread and ive been updating the other one, i believe since this one is more injector specific... i will keep the injector stuff here. so, i spoke with the rep for the ebay company and told him about this thread and that there could be interest in his service here (pending results, lol). anyhow, the mechanic believes the next step on my truck would be a rebuild on the injectors, so im gonna pull the trigger on the ebay service. here is his website...

can you get a EPBV delete for the early PS? ive only seen them for the 99+, altho it will fit you gotta upgrade the turbo due to mounting.
and bellowed up pipes would be a must IMO for this job.
before you buy injectors make sure you do a buss test.

idk about the delete, i will look into that. i was reading on one of the popular vendor's website in their tech section and it said that if theres no CEL or codes that buzz test is a moot point, because any issues there would trip a code... is that incorrect?

it looks like rosewood actually has a better price on the budget, stock rebuild anyhow...

edit: just noticed their disclaimer...
The Budget Build is typically just a starting point for the older '94 - '97 injectors. We have found these injectors are usually in very poor condition and turn into a Premium Build. We start our pricing at $500 for an Overhaul because a lot of the older injectors have been replaced and might have upgraded parts in them already. In that case we can do a very affordable Overhaul or upgrade. Otherwise the final build price will typically range between $500 and $1235 depending on what parts are for a proper repair.

I would trust rosewood over that ebay guy any day. Lol

Yes, ebpv delete pedestal is available for obs.
Not sure what you mean about having to upgrade the turbo though.

i rely more on personal experience than what i read on the internet.
with a buzz test, you can actually hear the "shape" the injectors are in,
they will buzz hard or soft.
but i have a nice scanner, and it dont cost me anything to perform the test.
